Hunting vicariously, while reading anothers life adventures, May 31, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Hunting Adventures of Me and Joe (Hardcover)
I first became framiliar with Walt Prothero's writting in Outdoor Life Magazine articles. I was very impressed by his ability to visually describe the country he was in, and the small details that most outdoor writers omit. Details like packing-out the venison, insects and temperatures. Most impressive are the questions I asked guides on my hunting trips that they could'nt answer...that Mr Prothero answered in the course of this book. This book of thirty hunting articles flows like fine fiction, but is non-fiction where the human-experiance has center stage. A great hunting book for people who cannot afford unlimited hunting trips west of the mississippi.
