For me to write Hunting for Tamara was an emotional experience. Having lived in the Middle East, having witnessed much carnage as a former trauma surgeon, having worked with war veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress, I put all that knowledge together to form the basis of this novel.

More About the Author

I. J. Sarfeh was born in Iran and spent his formative years in England. He immigrated to America at the age of 18, after which he pursued a career in medicine. At the turn of the millennium, he retired as Professor Emeritus of Surgery at the University of California and pursued his new career in creative writing--his passion before entering medicine. Along with over 200 scientific articles, he has published six novels mostly in the medical suspense/mystery genre. The latter are listed on his website at www.ijsarfeh.com and on Amazon.
