This item is fine if you're looking for a RESTRICTING device. Even at the fully open position it restricts flow to maybe half strength. Also, on my particular shower head, it changed the pattern of spray, I assume because of the narrow jet of water coming through the valve only hitting the central area of the shower head intake. This may not occur on other types of shower heads.

Like others have commented, when in the full open position the water is already restricted. I can't say how much but it is annoying that you can't go between full flow to off. With this thing you start at 75-80% ? If they would have a picture or if I would uninstall and take a picture, you would see the inside diameter is very small. I'm not a plumber so I don't know what factors affect overall water pressure but this valve operates on the principle of making a small hole smaller. So if you want a variable water restrictor this should work for you.

My wife wanted to be able to decrease the flow of water to a trickle in the shower while shaving. This valve works well for us. I was afraid it would ruin the pattern of flow from our large Kohler shower head, but it didn't. There is a noticeable decrease in the flow-rate of water with the valve installed, but that was desirable. Also the shipping was very prompt.

Was a bit shocked when I found the walk in shower in my new home had only two settings, full on and off. Lived with that for nearly a year before discovering this little gizmo. Installing it myself was a much less expensive solution than hiring a plumber and replacing the main valve, and it works like a charm.

This is a perfect solution to the situation where one does not have a shower valve that oontrols water flow/rate--but only temperature. It's inexpensive and easy to install----and it works perfectly!
The ability to control the flow of water not only allows for conservation of water, but provides more flexibility in the types of shower heads one can use effectively. It's also great when you have a number of people using the shower, some of which like a vigorous water flow, while others prefer a gentler, low flow shower.

Mine is now a two piece, useless. I'm glad I ordered a second option (push button). Mine came from D P L, no longer listed a seller of this and I paid $7.97, free shipping. Certainly happy it wasn't more, the same item seems to go for up to $30. It's currently $12.95, a whopping 62.5% increase.

I had everything in place (new pipe out of wall all the way to new shower head) and this little darling was the only thing that leaked, loosened a couple things up and tightened this down, twice. I was satisfied with the minimal dips and went wide open with the spigot and then reached up and twisted the knob on this and it shot out. A shame, I like this concept so much better than the push button.

It's a piece of junk. The retention ring that holds the valve stem is too loose for the groove in the valve body. I only have about 70-psi water pressure. As soon as I turned on the main shower valve and shut off this showerhead flow control valve, the whole valve stem assembly blew out. I tried to re-assemble the thing but it's just not machined properly to hold pressure, so into the garbage it went. I don't even want to bother with a replacement. It might work if you only use it to cut down the waterflow (which might be it's intended purpose), but it won't hold the typically domestic waster pressure for a total shut-off.

The delivery, however, was prompt.

Worked as described and solved a problem I had been working on for awhile. Very simple solution, easy installation, quality valve.
