4.0 out of 5 stars Site Rate 4 1/2 Stars. A Sci-Fi Erotica Sensation!, June 17, 2005
By
Janalee Ruschhaupt (Fresno, California U.S.A.) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Huntress (Liquid Silver Books) (Paperback)
The year is 2032.

Rulagh Lugraanrown is an exo-biologist and has been studying veterinary surgery for the past four years. He is currently working at the Interstellar Humane Society. During a bored moment at work, Rulagh decides to go through and clean out three hundred years of old outdated files off the computer database. An abnormality catches his eye. Eight years ago, space traveling tourist on earth, lost six of their Shrennan pets. Now Rulagh and three of his co-workers must go to earth and eliminate the Shrennan that have propagated there in the last eight years. They have only ten earth years to complete their mission.

Rulagh has been stationed in Puerto Rica and is befriended by Roberto Rodriguez, Sonia's father. Roberto is dying of cancer and has only six months to live when he meets Rulagh. Roberto finds out that Rulagh is on earth to exterminate what the locals call, Chupacabras. Roberto has Rulagh move in with him, so he has a place to hide during the day and can hunt undetected at night.

Sonia Rodriguez, a highly successful web designer and programmer, whose interests are Science Fiction and going to Renaissance Faires to competing in their jousting tournaments. It was at one of these jousting tournaments, that Sonia is told her father has passed away.

Sonia has now moved into her father's home in Puerto Rica. In accordance to her father's will, she must live there a year. What Sonia does not realize is that Rulagh is living there in a hidden room. Roberto's wish, was for his daughter and Rulagh to work together to hunt the Shrennan.

It is Rulagh loneness that finally brings him out of hiding, to show himself to Sonia. To say Sonia is shocked, would be an understatement. They finally come to an agreement and start to trust one another. Theirs will be a struggle to, not only overcome racial differences, but also totally different species. Through it all, they will find an attraction so sexual strong, it could rip apart their very lives.

This reviewer was enamored with The Huntress and could not put it down! Ms. Karmazin's writing was sharp, witty and highly erotic. Ms. Karmazin has had vast experience in bilingual (Spanish/English) as a caseworker. She uses her multicultural knowledge and infuses it into this story. Ms. Karmazin delves lightly into the folklore of the Puerto Rican belief of the creature they call the Chupacabras. This creature reminds one of a lizard that walks upright. Rulagh's character is much like that Chupacabras, but Ms. Karmazin makes him more man-like in form. With his multicolored soft-scaled body and red eyes, you would think he would be scary. Sonia does not see Rulagh as an alien to be feared, but a sensual creature she desires. Even though, Rulagh is portrayed as a lonely, gentle alien, he is far from a wimp. He is a highly sexual creature, with the cravings of a fiery dragon! Sonia is a strong willed woman, but with Rulagh, she turns into a sex kitten. Even with their differences, they are like twin flames, burning as one.

Ms. Karmazin has a unique way of making this reviewer see all the different sides of each character, clearly, precisely. You truly believe that these two totally different people/alien, are madly in love. You will find yourself routing for them, with each turn of a page. The Huntress is like an intricately and tightly mastered puzzle. All the pieces fit together seamlessly, without effort, creating a beautifully written tale.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Very Entertaining Sci-Fi, Erotic Read!!!, September 23, 2005
This review is from: The Huntress (Liquid Silver Books) (Paperback)
Ms. Karmazin truly has a wonderfully creative mind and has aptly demonstrated this for her book "The Huntress." Readers should be forewarned that this is beyond steamy, but done so in a very sensual way that was not off putting.

The year is 2023 and an alien biologist is sent to earth in order to kill the "Chupacabras" which had been left behind on earth years earlier and have now become a dangerous problem. Rulagh is sent to Puerto Rico where the problem is the largest and with little back up. He must rely on a Sonia, a human that he can't get out of his mind. Her scent, and zest for life calls to him. He is hopeless to ignore what she makes him feel, and can only hope that she won't run screaming once she has seen him with her own eyes. After he helps her escape a pack of the Chupacabras, he has no choice but to enlist her help in his fight against these vampire like creatures. They are on a race against time but will they be successful or will they loose the one thing that they each want. Each other?

Normally not a huge fan of this genre I found this read to be totally captivating. Ms. Karmazin is a very descriptive writer and has brought the future to animated life. Rulagh and Sonia prove that love can be found if you look beyond the surface. This was a fine read and Ms. Karmazin is one author I have no problem recommending.

This review is from: The Huntress (Liquid Silver Books) (Paperback)
In the future, Rulagh is an exo-biologist and veterinary surgeon at the Interstellar Humane Society. While reviewing old files, he finds a problem. Eighty years ago, interstellar tourists misplaced six pets on a remote planet listed as 'Earth' in the Sol star system. He then alerts his superiors to the horrible ecological disaster-in-waiting caused by the feral descendants of these lost pets. He and three co-workers travel to Earth to eradicate the dangerous pets before this incident causes a major uproar in interstellar politics. Sonia Rodriguez arrives in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. A science fiction enthusiast and Renaissance Faire quarterstaff jouster, Sonia programs computers, designs websites and security software. Her father's will states that in order for her to claim a billion dollar inheritance, she must live in his Cabo Rojo mansion for one year. They create a team of aliens and humans to eradicate these dangerous animals and, in the process of working together, forge a love that transcends species
