Let's see, I've known that I wanted to be a writer since I was about six, when a teacher praised a horrible poem I'd written. I wrote my first book in high school, finishing it in my first year of college. Then I became a special ed teacher before I was able to become a writer full-time. That's about it!

I have read all the Night World books so far and this by far is my favorite. With Secret Vampire and The Chosen tied for second. I love Jez as the main character. The fact that she is a strong girl who can fight AND think for herself makes her totally cool. I love the soulmate principle. The Wild Power idea was a great one and that something big is going to happen at the millenium makes me want to keep reading to find out what it's going to be. I hope to see the characters from this book along with those from all the other books showing up in the future. If it was possible to give this book six stars I would do it in a minute. To all those out there thinking of reading the Night World series and those just looking for a good read srart with the first one Secret Vampire and you'll be hooked gareented!! : )

This is among the best of the series so far, at least the Top 3, along with DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS and THE CHOSEN. I loved Jez's first appearance and hope to see more of her in later books, along with Morgead. What a choice for the first Wild Power to be found: a half-vampire!!!!!!!!! This is the only one I always keep on my bedside table and read nightly. And what about that prophecy:

In blue fire, the final darkness is banished. In blood, the final price is paid.

Four to stand between the light and the shadow, Four of blue fire, power in their blood. Born in the year of the blind Maiden's vision; Four less one and darkness triumphs.

One from the land of kings long forgotten; One from the hearth which still holds the spark; One from the Day World where two eyes are watching; One from the twilight to be one with the dark.

Wow! And speaking of which, when are we ever going to find out who the last Wild Power is? I'm about going crazy. Okay, sum it all up: READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jez Redfern had thought she was 100% vampire. She was leader of one of the most influential gangs in the night world. But one fateful night she learned the truth! Her father had been vampire, but her mother had been human! The Council had killed her parents while she was still a tiny child, and would have killed her (as a freak of nature) except for her Uncle Bracken. Devastated, she was sent to live (hide) with her mother's relatives. They did not know her true heritage. As long as she did not drink blood, she could pass as human. She became part of Circle Daybreak, a vampire hunter!

But Circle Daybreak sent her to rejoin her old gang in order to locate one of the legendary Wild Powers that their current leader, Morgead, claimed to have found. Morgead had been her second in command and was highly dangerous. Worse, some sort of twisted fate made them to be soul mates! Should he find out she was half human, he would kill her instantly!

***** An awesome tale! WOW! This book is fabulous! You will not regret purchasing this one, readers! I am currently searching for the next! Oh, this one is a book in itself, but there will obviously be others! A winner!
