THE ABSOLUTE BEST NIGHT WORLD BOOK!!!! -YET, August 18, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
I have read all the Night World books so far and this by far is my favorite. With Secret Vampire and The Chosen tied for second. I love Jez as the main character. The fact that she is a strong girl who can fight AND think for herself makes her totally cool. I love the soulmate principle. The Wild Power idea was a great one and that something big is going to happen at the millenium makes me want to keep reading to find out what it's going to be. I hope to see the characters from this book along with those from all the other books showing up in the future. If it was possible to give this book six stars I would do it in a minute. To all those out there thinking of reading the Night World series and those just looking for a good read srart with the first one Secret Vampire and you'll be hooked gareented!! : )

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!, May 6, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
This is among the best of the series so far, at least the Top 3, along with DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS and THE CHOSEN. I loved Jez's first appearance and hope to see more of her in later books, along with Morgead. What a choice for the first Wild Power to be found: a half-vampire!!!!!!!!! This is the only one I always keep on my bedside table and read nightly. And what about that prophecy: In blue fire, the final darkness is banished. In blood, the final price is paid. Four to stand between the light and the shadow, Four of blue fire, power in their blood. Born in the year of the blind Maiden's vision; Four less one and darkness triumphs. One from the land of kings long forgotten; One from the hearth which still holds the spark; One from the Day World where two eyes are watching; One from the twilight to be one with the dark. Wow! And speaking of which, when are we ever going to find out who the last Wild Power is? I'm about going crazy. Okay, sum it all up: READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A winner!, March 14, 2003
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
Jez Redfern had thought she was 100% vampire. She was leader of one of the most influential gangs in the night world. But one fateful night she learned the truth! Her father had been vampire, but her mother had been human! The Council had killed her parents while she was still a tiny child, and would have killed her (as a freak of nature) except for her Uncle Bracken. Devastated, she was sent to live (hide) with her mother's relatives. They did not know her true heritage. As long as she did not drink blood, she could pass as human. She became part of Circle Daybreak, a vampire hunter! But Circle Daybreak sent her to rejoin her old gang in order to locate one of the legendary Wild Powers that their current leader, Morgead, claimed to have found. Morgead had been her second in command and was highly dangerous. Worse, some sort of twisted fate made them to be soul mates! Should he find out she was half human, he would kill her instantly! ***** An awesome tale! WOW! This book is fabulous! You will not regret purchasing this one, readers! I am currently searching for the next! Oh, this one is a book in itself, but there will obviously be others! A winner!

Bset book of all!, January 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
I love this book of all the Nightworld series. What makes this book seem real, is the fact that the 2 main characters( Jez and Morgead) make you believe they belong together. No offense to the other Nightworld series, but as an avid reader, you have to believe why these two characters should be soulmates. Jez and Morgead have a complex, but love-hate relationship with heated chemistry. In the other books, (even though I love them) you don't really see the chemistry between the characters. This book seemed real enough to look at these characters' love for each other. Now what is taking so long for Strange Fate to come out? The millinium is already here.

new twist to the series, May 27, 2002
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
Jez Redfern has grown up believing that she is one of the lamia, the born vampires, only to find out that she's only half vampire. The other half is human, and if any one in the Night World found out, they'd kill her. Now living with her human mother's family, she kills those in the Night World who hunt humans. Circle Daybreak, a group that wants harmony between the Night World and humans, gives Jez a mission. They heard that Morgead, a member of the gang Jez used to be a part of, has a Wild Power, a person mentioned in prophecies about the end of the world. If Jez can't get the Wild Power to someplace safe, the world will end at the turn of the new millenium. The Night World series now has a particular direction it's going in, and it's a thrilling one to read about. Just a warning, though: as far as I know, the series never gets finished, and we never get to see what happens at the turn of the new millenium. In this book, we get to see someone walk two worlds in a different way than we're used to in this series. Jez leads a double life with her new family and with Morgead, her soulmate. I would've liked it if this book had been a little longer; everything seemed to happen so quickly, and it made me wish there were more for me to read.

So Good!, January 29, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
This book is great for anyone who likes unexpected suprises. I liked how, at first, Morgead seemed like a vicious, mean, guy, but turned out to be really caring. And I liked how the gang was viewed as sort of a family. And I liked the twist in the end and the one in the begining.

It was well worth the wait..., September 30, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
This is one of the best books in the Night World series. I, unlike some readers, love the fact of the solemate principal (I'm a total romantic). It makes the stories more real somehow. Smith keeps up the series by mentioning characters from other books. But, what I want to know is what's going to happen with Ash and Mary-Lynnette? Jez and Morgead have a connection that only one other couple in this series have. That couple is Quinn and Rashel who coose to face the reality that life has given them the ultimate test (with him being a vampire and her being a vampire hunter). This book was wonderful and I can't wait for the new ones to come out. A must read!

Very good book by a GREAT author!!, September 9, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
I love all of LJ Smith's books, and I was very glad to see that this one followed in the footsteps of the other books in the Nightworld series. I, unlike some other people who have written reviews, think that the soulmate principle is an excellent and most crucial part of the book. In this book, I kept expecting Jez to find out that she was maybe 1/2 witch instead of human, which would make her situation more easy and which would create an interesting base for possible upcoming books with her character in it. But this book was great anyway. It was touching, with a great plot and plenty of twists, with that perfect ammount of romance added in. I hope LJ Smith keeps doing what she's doing, and I can't wait for the next book she writes. I'm hoping for a book where some of the characters from previous books are used, like James and Poppy, Ash, and Quinn in particular

Smith Is In An Enjoyable Rut, September 5, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
Smith is a very interesting author. She uses the old plots of the romantic comedies of the 1940s and 50s to make modern novels for Young Adults. In essence they usually follow this pattern: they meet, they fight, they fall in love, and they kiss. Simple, easy, and when you throw in a few vampires it's all the more enjoyable. Smith is the type of author best suited for children with maturity levels beyond "The Babysitter's Club" but not quite ready for the seriousness or scariness of Anne Rice and Stephen King. This novel starts out promising with a great bad boy hero, Morgead. He's got the black leather jacket, the motorcycle, and the hair; let's face it we all love those bad boys. Now, enter Jez, the heroine, with some unique genetic make-up (she's half human and half vampire). Unfortunately that's about the only exciting thing about her character. Jez spends most of the novel agonizing about what will happen when Morgead finds out she's half human. When the time comes for this

A really good book that anyone should read!!!, August 18, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress Night World 7 (Paperback)
This book was really great. The storyline was very interesting, the soulmate principle was in full form, and the characters were well described and understood. I also like this new thing about the apocalypse, and the four standing against it. I can't wait until they find the other three Wild Powers (I won't tell you who the Wild Power is in this book. It would ruin the surprise!) Jez, Morgead, and the rest of the characters were great, and I hope to see them popping up in some of the other books, as well as some of her previous characters (Ash, M'lin, Quinn, Rashel, Poppy, and Blaise in particular). I hope that L. J. Smith keeps doling it out! ~Sunn
