It starts with Tara (Jenna Bodner) on a train returning home to Brecon, North Wales to her father's funeral.
At the funeral Tara meets a close friend who she has not seen for years Michelle (Blair Valk).
Michelle is trying to talk Tara to sell her father estate to Alek (David Starzyk) who wants it for all the treasures within.

Michelle is trying to talk Tara to sell her father estate to Alek (David Starzyk) who wants it for all the treasures within.
There is a curse that was placed on Brecon centuries ago and Tara unknowingly falls prey to it.
The curse suddenly empowers Tara given her acute animal instincts incredible stamina and strength for filling her desires.
Tara search for answer to her family past and then the treachery of her friend is reveal.
As the story go on they is a lot of good directing, Spirit of the night leave me still wanting more when it ends so I wonder if there is a sequel.

"Huntress:Spirit of the Night" is about a woman who returns to her birthplace in England, only to recieve apon her a bizzare curse that presents an animal-like spirt with a storng sex drive into her. She also along the way meets a male photographer and draws close to him as a boyfriend. Then a few atagonists come into play. "Huntress" has a good idea for a softcore/horror flick, and it's fine to watch, some good performances and scenery. But the film-makers couldn't let the main character do much with her beastly slice of herself, save a stylish, sexy nude shots with her boyfreind and at the end of the film. I was unsatishfied enough with that it wasn't scary enough for a horror movie (except for the use of make-up at the end.) The ending was incomprehensible, like the scriptwriter ran out of ideas and couldn't finish the script on time, so the film-makers make the actor act out in from of the camera in a chopped fashion. What a shame, but not too bad of a film. Only Neil Jordan's "The Company of Wolves" was a better mix or horror, fanasty, and softcore themes. It was darker, chillier, surreal, and sometime some good tension. Too bad it was pulled off shelves early.

This review is from: Huntress:Spirit of the Night (DVD)
This movie was just "ok" while the scenery was lush , the storyline lagged and then ended abruptly as if the studio ran out of money , even though i am sure they will say it was done that way "on purpose" to leave the ending up to the viewers imagination,,,,,i call b.s. on that one :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good werewolf movie, could have been better., June 27, 2005
This review is from: Huntress:Spirit of the Night (DVD)
Huntress is a good movie but it could have been so much better if the filmmakers focused on the werewolf parts and have made it uncut instead of the heavily edited R-rating. It's a good start. Maybe they can remake this movie in the near future. A good movie that could have been so much better and I wished it was. A hot red-head werewolf runs amok throughout the Welsh countryside!!

Strongly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars A little known, under-appreciated erotic thriller..., February 29, 2004
This movie is that rarity of rarities: an erotic film that is actually done well. Jena Bodner, in her first film role, delivers a credible performance as a woman undergoing a lycanthropic change and makes the movie worthwhile all on her own. Yes, she is nude every other scene, but you can hardly hold that against her. The castle setting, direction and cinematography all add a great deal to the production. My one complaint is that the ending is a bit inconclusive and up in the air, then, it looks like they were looking to make it into a series of films. The old British TV show "She-Wolf of London" might have done well to employ more of the primal, sexual themes used here. This is not one of the high art horror movies, like Dario Argento or Mario Bava, it is strictly exploitation, but it is well-done exploitation, and a pleasant surprise for a weekend night.

4.0 out of 5 stars Naked babes filmed in Romania!, February 7, 2003
By
Michae (West Springfield, MA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Huntress:Spirit of the Night (DVD)
Beware the sinners of Wales! Naked babes in the wine
cellar! In the shower! (Then eating eggs) On the the
piano! In the Tub! Touching themselves, well,in naughty
places! Nudity in a stinking wet cave!(with flashing light)
A three-some in an old country house! A sullen butler!
(who drives the main character around in a dippy old car)
A lousy ending! But all in all, plenty of fun 'n' games in
ole Britain.
(Sequel: "Mucking About in Wales II")
or - "Living In Welsh Caves On Five Pounds A Week"

3.0 out of 5 stars Werewolf meets B moive line story, June 22, 1999
Huntress Spirit of the night is by far one of the weirdest plots I have ever seen. It has a woman who lost her father and retuns to her family home in some out of the way place in London. After that she starts having all these erotic dreams about herself doing all these different kinds of sex acts. To top it off she meets a totally nude woman in her basement who just happen to run away long enough for her to be engulfed in this ball of light and have strange animal urges. Soon after that her best freind tries to seduce her along with this handsome man (Who quite frankly doesn't have many lines and doesn't even get naked in this film.) in trying to find her family forutne. Worse the ending didn't make any sense. It was the best film I have seen. A lot of full nudity and semi-nudity for those who like this kind of thing. So if you like b moives of this calibur then this is the one for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars left me howling mad, August 5, 2009
This review is from: Huntress:Spirit of the Night (DVD)
Supposedly set in Wales, but shot in Romania. The accents are so bad as to be offensive, most of the cast sound like scandinavians being slowly beaten to death with Irish people rather than Welsh. Supposedly 'an erotic horror film', the central idea is an interesting take on the werewolf myth. However, the end result is neither interesting, erotic or scary.

This was a good film if it was not for all the violence and stuff it would be a even better movie. This is not a must see unless you like action films. The acctresses in this movie where really good. I have seen other movies that they where in and they really do get into there acting parts.
