I enjoy having this orginizer every time I whip it out.

Great made in U.S.A. quality.
The drill bit sizes are stamped into the face of the metal fold-out trays in fractional and decimal. No cheap labels or ink that wears off and leaves you reaching for a caliper every time you need a specific drill.

Also handy: the drill size for a few common thread taps are stamped into the metal of the front (largest) tray. So if you need to tap a 1/4-20 thread, you'll know what to reach for. I would list all the sizes, but I don't have the thing in front of me right know (it's at work.) I've since tapped 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 in coarse and fine so I know those are on there, plus one or two more bolt sizes I think.

The cover latches on very well, the hinges are solid, and the metal is thick and sturdy with a great coat on it.
Do yourself a favor; get rid of that makeshift cardboard box or flimsy plastic tray you have your bits sloshing around in and buy this drill index. Yeah, I know you guys are out there, I've been there too.

Before I bought this index, I spent lots of time shopping around, looking for the best quality for the best price. The only requirements were that it was metallic and could hold 29 bits (which is standard).

This holder fit the bill perfectly. One of the things I like the most is how the bit sizes are not stamped on there; rather, they are raised in the metal. Thus, they will never wear off. I have this organizer fully loaded with all the bit sizes, and it does exactly what it is supposed to.

One thing to note: when I close the drawer of my toolbox, the bits tend to slide to the front of the holder and make a clanking noise. To stop this from happening, I put some foam tape at the top of the bit holder. Now, the bits sit up against foam, rather than metal. Problem solved!

This was a no brainer on this item, I owned one many years ago and found it a great help with its tap and drill guide. Another product that is still made in the USA.
A great way to keep drills organized and ready to use.

I have one of these that was purchased ~15 years ago for my general-purpose twist bits. I've accumulated a set of brad-point bits and wanted another index case. Unfortunately, the cases available at local distributors are poorly designed. Many have big windows (without a pane) and don't protect the bits from the environment. Worse, many of the bit holders make it difficult to get at the bits or see the bit size labels. But this index organizer is great. You have easy access to all of your bits, and the box is secure--no windows/cutouts to expose the bits when the box is closed. This is the index organizer to buy.

I looked for this for 2 years on tool sites before trying-Amazon. Great price, heavy duty, marked w/ drill bit size on metal holder. Saves time digging for right size drill. My dad was a federal inspector for aircraft machined parts. He had a similar case for holding marking taps, 30 years old still works. Only regret, I didn't buy 2.

I was extremely pleased with both the price and the quality. I would strongly recommend this product for any individual looking to keep their drill bits in one place and easily accessible. Great product.

This is what it should be - a good case for bits. I had a set of DeWalt brad-point bits; the case did NOT hold up. Replaced with this, and all is well!

As other reviewers have noted, this is an excellent drill bit organizer. It is NOT like those cheap organizers that mark the bit sizes with painted markings which are scratched away in no time flat. The bit sizes are stamped into the all metal case which will last forever. The case is all metal with no plastic.

The only thing that could be improved is to have the smaller bits stored in the front of the case as you open it since you normally use them most.

My brother is a Viet-Nam vet. He loves to " piddle" in his garage. He was looking for a product to store his drill bits but all he could find was made mostly of plastic. His wife found this Huot Metal Index storage case for drill bits. She asked me to place the order. When it was shipped, he was extremely pleased with it. Thanks for your quality workmanship.
