This review is from: Hurricane Katrina:The First Seven Days of America's Worst Natural Disaster (Paperback)
Being that I am a Louisiana resident living within 30 miles in any direction of the hardest hit area, I can tell you that this book did not in the least portray what was experienced in this State during and after the storm. I ordered several books on Katrina, for the purpose of retaining the history of this tragedy. All of the other books, are quality works with pictures and words describing the drama and devastation the people endured and continue to endure as a result of this national tragedy. This book cost $3 more than all the others I purchased and regardless that $1 is being donated to the American Red Cross, had I had opportunity to review it prior to purchase, I would not even have accepted it at no cost. The author's rendering consists of no pictures, less than 100 pages, most chapters not even a full page. It appeared to be put together quickly and for profit only. A 7th grader living in another country, preparing a Science report, could have written a more concise, detailed, dramatic, compassionate report, taking just news broadcast reports and images from National television coverage. If anyone wants to help our state by contributing to the American Red Cross, I can assure you that you will get more for your money if you send the equivalent of the total cost of this book to them directly.

Do not buy this book.. if I had seen the reviews before I bought this book I am sure I would have follwed them..All this author did was take press releases and put them between a cover GEE that's hard work.. NOT!!
This book was just a way for a lawyer to line his pockets more.. OH and WOW 1.00 is given to the red cross.. Isn't that big of him with a cover price of 16.95 who gets most of the money.. If I didn't live outside of the US I would return this book.. but it would cost me more in postage then it is worth.. So I guess I just use it for starting my next BBQ.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hurricane Katrina:The First Seven Days of America's Worst Natural Disaster (Paperback)
This is the first book I have ever returned to Amazon. Not only does this account lack any analysis, it fails to contribute any new information about Hurricane Katrina. The book reads like a brief summary of news reports. I was disapointed with the quality and depth of the information.

short and worthless,
This review is from: Hurricane Katrina:The First Seven Days of America's Worst Natural Disaster (Paperback)
dont buy the book its a rehash of nothing. You can get the same infromation and more from other katrina books. Plus your donating to the red cross which was interestingly abscent from new orleans for the first 1 and half months after katrina and has now been found to have embezzled money in the afair.
