About the Author

PAUL STEINBERG Hurry moon is my first published work. Back in high school, I spent my senior year trying to decide between my interests in art, music and writing. I had some talent in each, but had to try to decide what might give me the best chance of making a living from my creative pursuits. In college, I added theatre to my list of artistic channels. In the end I chose painting because at that time, I felt that it gave me the best chance to succeed since I would have more control of the product in terms of finding customers and selling to them directly. In music, drama and writing, you needed an agent who would approve your talent to get anywhere. I spent the next several years having some success as a painter. I won some awards and did some work that others have found enjoyable enough to want to purchase and hang in their homes. My painting has given me great satisfaction, but I missed the other forms of expression. Several years ago, I had an idea for a romantic story where the main character has a lifelong relationship with a girl in his dreams. I created a screenplay as writing the dialogue was the most comfortable part of the process at that time. The screenplay took a year to write. It took me an additional 3 years to convert the screenplay to the novel Hurry Moon. It has been a rewarding experience. With the technology now available, I am no longer dependent on others to determine my worth as a writer. I will leave that determination in the hands of those who find the story appealing. I have put everything I have into this novel, and I hope you find it a pleasant read. Just to keep you interested, I have already started the sequel. A trace of Echoes will start from the very point where Hurry Moon stops. Look for it in 2016!

I received this book for free for review. This was an interesting book to read because it seemed like more than a story about an imaginary friend. Steinburg did a wonderful job of drawing me in to the various emotions in the book--the supporting characters were believable. It made the fantastic parts of the story more balanced within the book. I liked the shifting perspective as well.

I was left with one big question at the end of the book, but I don't want to put it here for fear of spoiling the ending for someone else. The ending was a bit abrupt after all the time leading up to it, but overall I enjoyed the book.

When I read a book, I want to get lost in it to the point where I can so easily visualize what is written on the page as if I was experiencing the setting and the text in person. Paul Steinberg does that so very well. His writing is so visually descriptive and engaging. This book does what most well-known trilogies do; i.e., it develops slowly, but with intent, and just as you are fully engaged in the characters, it ends leaving you wondering why it took so long to get to that point and why it ended with so much yet to be explained. Having just started the second book in this Heartsense Trilogy, "Traces of Echoes" I can already say that it picks up nicely, with the same engaging style and the only dilemma I will have is whether I rush through reading it or try to make it last until the third book in this series comes out. Something tells me, I will be anxiously awaiting the final book.

I read. A lot. Usually have two or more books going at any given time. So when I heard Paul Steinberg was writing a trilogy I was intrigued. Paul is quiet, sensitive and extremely creative so I was curious about his latest creations. Hurry Moon is the first book in the Heartsense Trilogy and what started as a coming of age story, filled with values and morals, quickly developed a unique edge and twist.
I am usually a sucker for authors that write series, probably because I grew up eating lunch with my Grandmother as she watched her soap operas. Anticipation can be as enjoyable as the reward. So I will be seeking out the second book and looking forward to the third. With quite eloquence and straight forward writing style Paul offers cross generational appeal so I can easily recommend starting this trilogy to anyone.
One more successful author Richmond can claim.

"Hurry Moon" is a treat for anyone who loves to kick back and emerse themselves in another life at a different level. Steinberg gives you a story line that allows you to think about life "outside of the box". He has created great characters who are strong throughout the book. I enjoyed getting to know them in this Book 1 of the Heartsense Trilogy and I am anxious to see what they come up against and how their lives intertwine in Books 2 and 3.

One of my favorite parts of the book was following Dalton from childhood to adulthood and learning about his relationship with the dream girl, Sienna, as they go through all the big moments as they grow up. The concept is fun and unique. I think you can tell that it was first written as a screenplay because the actions and descriptions of the scenes seem so well thought out and visual. I look forward to reading about what unfolds in the sequels.

Hurry Moon, a delightful romp about a young man's trials and tribulations through adolescence and young adulthood. Steinberg gives us his unique interpretation on the realm of the human dreamscape. I enjoyed the outstanding character development and depth that make the protagonists quite endearing. The conclusion is especially refreshing, leaving the reader longing for more. Hopefully, Steinberg will deliver just that.

I read Hurry Moon in just a couple of days, and I don't have a lot of time to read. I really enjoyed the characters, with some you will love, some you will hate, and some for whom you will feel very sorry. Watching the main characters deal with their own issues and motivations while trying to be what others need of them too creates a lot of balance and conflict. Looking forward to the sequel.

Hurry Moon was a delightful book! The characters come to life, I connected with Dalton and Sienna - cried a little when they cried and laughed when the laughed - their emotions are well portrayed. The story is heart touching, bringing you from childhood to adult, with memoriable milestones along the way. Each chapter I was anxious for them to meet, I'm so excited for the next book!!!
