Boxer's The Hurt Process is a cd that if you are remotely interested in punk/emo/hard rock you need to buy immediately. Produced by Trever Keith of face to face, this Boston quartet delivers scorching guitar riffs, bass lines that produce a smile in major depressives, and vocals that really can't be described. The singer, Dave Vicini, goes up and down at a hundred different tempos with his words. An amazing singer who should be destined for greatness. The production by Keith is tight, it really blows away his work on the newest ftf Ignorance is Bliss. The band plays together immaculately. At first listen you will be attracted to boxer. It will make you come back for more, until you reach the point wherein all the good songs are ingrained in your head forever. You probably haven't heard anything that sounds like Boxer (unless you're one of the few who has heard Lifetime, the Jersey five-piece, who is obviously Vicini & Company's biggest influence). And we may never again, with Boxer having broken up some time ago. But the rumors now say Vicini and Will Kerr (the bassist and chief music writer) have formed a new band entitled Lot Six. I am hoping that album comes out soon, and they keep the intensity intact. It will be tough to replace the guitarist, who does rip some scorching lines, but Vicini and Kerr will hopefully put out a good cd in the new decade (I'm still waiting for one to arrive). Get this cd NOW!.

While the lead singer's voice is similar to Ari's from Lifetime, and Boxer is obviously influenced by Lifetime, they are by no means a Lifetime clone. There are traces of All, the Decendents and even Poison (begining of "Georgia") on this record, but all of the influences blend together to make an original, emotionally charged sound that seperates them from the pack. This is the type of record you listen to striaght through (not unlike Jersey's Best Dancers), so picking a standout track is sort of hard, but I'd say "You and Me" is probably the catchiest.

This order was probably the best i have ever had. First of all, awesome cd! I was looking for this cd everywhere including the the record company's website, but i couldn't find it. I was so happy when i found it here on amazon. Second, the price was super cheap. $10 for this cd? i would have gladly spent $20 even $30. This cd was worth every penny. Finally, friggin fast shipping. I live in hawaii, so shipping usually takes a while; however, i got this cd within two days! In conclusion, i was most satisfied with this purchase.
