This is one of my favorite songs ever. A must buy for all*.

* I live in Canada and at this point the Canadian Amazon (amazon.ca) doesn't have mp3 downloads. So I had to get it another way (cough cough) since I refuse to buy any DRM stuff and the only music stores in Canada support DRM. Here is hopping that Amazon starts selling mp3 downloads to Canadians. Where I will he more than happy to pay 90c for this song.

First off, this song is better then the NIN original. Very few times will anyone ever say a cover is better then the original, but this is one of them. When Cash does it you just feel the meaning of the song more. Cash's voice is so raw and full of pain that you actually understand it and relate to him. Also; knowing about Johnny's life adds weight to the song.

I heard that this is sort of a re-make of the original song, but I think Mr. Cash makes this his own. He conveys the desperation of someone at the end of their rope, who's losing everything. It's a very memorable melody and obviously well sung.

And he is going to make sure by the end of this song, you too know it.
Reznor created an awe inspiring song here, and it inspired awe in the man who would turn it into the tribute to the indecencies of life that it was originally intended to be.

Brought goose-bumps to my skin the first time I heard it. I love NIN but Johnny Cash makes this song much more raw and heartfelt. AMAZING.
