I enjoyed the 21 stories in Hurts So Good. I got the book as an after-Christmas present to myself. The book starts off with The Sound of One Hand Clapping, by Nikki Magennis. I have enjoyed her work in other compilations and she doesn't disappoint here either. Next is Sting, by Jessica Lennox, which I loved because I have always found tattoo shops to be very sexy places. (It's the smell) Also, the idea of a sensual encounter turning into a sexual encounter is very exciting. Testing the Water by Teresa Noelle Roberts was a fun story about two friends discovering they had more in common than they thought. I really liked this story because it showed bondage and domination in the context of a typical relationship, contrary to the black leather clad image that TV and movies show of this subculture. She didn't lick his boots or sleep on the floor after the sex was over; they were equals again once the blindfold came off and the paddle was put away. I Promise To Do My Best by Teresa Joseph made me laugh out loud. The idea of adult women dressing up in Girl Scout uniforms and paddling each other is not a turn-on at all for me, but the story was well-written and entertaining. One of my favorites was First Time Since by Xan West. This story contained some of the more graphic dominate/submissive behavior in the book (human urinal), but what it was really about to me was how you slowly gather the pieces and rebuild yourself after a relationship ends. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good spanking, and anyone who is titillated by pushing pain and pleasure to the edge.

Loved, loved, loved this one! It's got some really good bdsm/spanking/s/m, et al stories. It is totally unrestrained, so be warned. I was looking for something quick and good and was so glad I ran across this one. Allison Tyler is one of the best, that's for sure, and this little gem proves it. Also liked: Sweet Persuasion.

I must admit that I was a bit nervous when I picked up Alison Tyler's collection of BDSM stories, Hurts So Good. BDSM isn't really my thing, and I was not looking forward to sifting through 200 pages of stories to find something I would enjoy.

But I trust Alison Tyler.

So I dove in.

And I am glad I did.

I found that there was a lot to enjoy in this book. The stories are well-written, and the action is steamy. Not every story is going to appeal to everyone (some are more intense than others), but anyone can find something arousing and appealing about stepping in to this world of complex power dynamics.

Tyler's love of spanking comes through in this book. I would have liked to see a bit more variety than the number of spanking stories included. However, since spanking is a common fantasy for many people, it seems like a logical place to start. And, who knows, maybe you will find something new you never knew aroused you!

Definitely worth a look-see! Take a risk and see what you discover!

"Hurts so Good" is packed full of excellent stories with varying themes. Even better, it includes stories from several of my favorite writers! My favorite stories from this anthology would have to be "Panty Lines" by Sommer Marsden - the building eroticism in this story is delicious; and "Sting" by Jessica Lennox - a surprise encounter at a tattoo parlor leaves a young woman painfully aroused.

I can't think of a single anthology edited by Alison Tyler that I haven't enjoyed, and this one is no different! Well done!

I am really enjoying this book. The first story seemed a little choppy, but the rest of the book is quite arousing.
