Accomplishments include: Assisting the firm in obtaining the Electronic Commerce Resource Center Program contract and served as initial Program Manager in addition to obtaining special delivery orders (Ms. Scottie Knott, DLA Customer); Established the Aerospace Industries Association Electronic Commerce Working Group in collaboration with the association; Arranged for the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIDX) working group to co-conduct meetings with AIA to achieve cross-industry sharing of electronic commerce implementation information; Drafted input for the DLA and Joint Electronic Commerce Program Office implementation plans and strategies. NIA Corporation was dissolved and the contract transferred to MTS Technologies where I continued with DoD customer support.

Using process-modeling software that included an English/Japanese translator, led five teams in developing process models of seven different nuclear power plant facilities. The purpose was to harmonize processes and streamline operations, and improve efficiency in diagnosing potential disasters. This effort was prerequisite to converting from paper to digital operations.
Supported the Korea Aerospace Industries Association in conducting the first International Air Show in Seoul.

The result was to double sales in two years.

Observed Sherwin Williams, a 117-year-old company losing money on $1 billion+ sales; contacted the company president and offered to apply a systematic approach to process improvement with support from a team that he proposed be developed internally.
The president bought the idea with the offer of support from Dr. Richard Beckhard from MIT. The team included Dr. Ernesto Poza, author of Smart Growth, and Tom Kroeger now Vice President of Office Depot. The initiative resulted in the following: reduction of 2400 people at headquarters; introduction of point of sale technologies in 1530 retail stores, consolidation of merchandising and buying functions, and centralizing regional accounting functions. CFO Brian Wolfe declared the effort a success and introduced me to Mr. William Agee at Bendix Corporation to where I next moved.
