Be responsible for your mistakes!!!!,
By Chel (Naples, Italy) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Husband Of Convenience (Harlequin Presents) (Paperback)
Josie a virgin slept with Charles at a party because she thought she was in love with him and that he was beautiful. She later finds out she was pregnant and Charles had died so she marries Charles' brother Conan who really loves Josie. I don't like reading romance books where a woman is pregnant and the brother of the father to be marries the woman because the father to be dies or didn't give a damn. Life is not like that. Please give me a break this book was written in 1999 there is something called birth control. She didn't have to marry him!!!. If she can easily sleep with a man twice her age just because he is handsome then, she deserves to be responsible for her stupid mistake. Sorry but this did not do anything for me.

This review is from: Husband Of Convenience (Harlequin Presents) (Paperback)
The first time Conan laid eyes on Josie he knew she was the one for him. The second time he saw her was in the aftermath of her lovemaking with his brother Charles. When Charles dies and Conan finds out that Josie is pregnant, he offers her a marriage of convenience, despite the fact that he desperately wants more. In a fortuitous turn of events, though, Josie has an accident and hits her head, giving her amnesia. When she returns home with Conan, she naturally assumes that their marriage is one based on love and passion...

A Husband of Convenience by Jacqueline Baird,

This review is from: A Husband of Convenience (Hardcover)
I enjoyed this story ... yes, I can agree with the previous reviewer that the "brother takes the real father's place" stories can get old quickly, but Jacqueline Baird brings depth to these characters and made the story better than average, thus I rate it four stars and recommend.Description from the book back cover: A father for her unborn child ... Josie's husband, Conan Zarcourt, was tall, dark and seriously sexy. Yet Josie could only look, not touch, as theirs was a marriage in name alone. Conan had stepped in as father to his brother's child - the baby Josie was carrying ... But when an accident left Josie with amnesia she naturally assumed that Conan was her husband, her lover, and the father of her baby. And until she remembered the truth Conan was more than happy to have Josie in his bed ... |
