5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Enjoyable Love Story
OMG!!! This book was so good. I loved that fact that Ms Green took a serious story of a man with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and put a humorous spin to it that did not distract from the seriousness of his injury.

Rolland Jones was a man severely injured in a car accident. Melanie Wysh-Bishop was a recent divorcee hired to help he rehabilitate so that he...

3.0 out of 5 stars Definite Potential...BUT Lacking, September 19, 2009
This review is from: The Husband She Couldn't Forget (Silhouette Special Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book received such GREAT reviews and it's a HIGHLY recommended read...so, I just knew I was going to ENJOY it...however, it didn't meet my expectations...it's just an OKAY read for me...however, I will say the BEST part of the story is Rolland Jones and his struggles with TBI...despite his condition he is the most ENGAGING character in this story...there are quite a few HUMOROUS moments...some brief romantic scenes...and even some TOUCHING moments throughout...and the concept is DEFINITELY intriguing; it had potential...it just feels like some SIGNIFICANT details are left out...and if they were addressed and/or executed differently it would have made this a more SATISFYING read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Enjoyable Love Story, August 27, 2009

OMG!!! This book was so good. I loved that fact that Ms Green took a serious story of a man with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and put a humorous spin to it that did not distract from the seriousness of his injury.

Rolland Jones was a man severely injured in a car accident. Melanie Wysh-Bishop was a recent divorcee hired to help he rehabilitate so that he could rejoin society. Melanie appeared to have it all, but one day out of the blue her husband of six years serves her with divorce papers and disappears. The opportunity to work at Ryder Rehabilitation center is just the break she needs to move on with her life and put the past behind her. Rolland has no idea who he really is or whether he has a family somewhere in the world. The only thing he knows is nobody has tried to find him. Due to an unfortunate fire at Ryder's, Melanie and Rolland are given the opportunity to privately on Rolland's rehabilitation. Melanie tries to fight her attraction, because it is unethical for a therapist to become romantically involved with a patient. Rolland's mental disability won't allow him to understand why they can't be together and he refuses to be brushed off.

Although this was a Silhouette book, which means it was only 216 pages, Ms. Green makes every page count. There was a wonderful selection of supporting characters that added charm to the overall story. I found myself laughing out loud so many times, I just knew the people around me thought I was crazy. The love that grew between Rolland and Melanie was so warm, honest and touching, that I could actually feel the pangs in my own heart. It made me believe that not even a brain injury can keep true soul mates apart. I simply loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh my!, August 30, 2009
This review is from: The Husband She Couldn't Forget (Silhouette Special Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'd rather not give any details. This is a great story of second chances. I loved it because it brought light to an important condition: TBI. I loved how the author made it all seem realistic, like you know the main characters. It is a great read! Definitely a must buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating: 3.5) - Life Finds A Way, April 13, 2010

This review is from: The Husband She Couldn't Forget (Silhouette Special Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
Amnesia therapist Melanie Wysh is near the end of her rope. She and her husband, bought a large home and a 'family' car, but five years later they are still without children. Then, she reaches the end; without any warning, Melanie is served divorce papers, and she cannot contact her husband. It seems he quit his job two weeks earlier and disappeared. Not wanting to wallow in heartbreak, Melanie secures their home and relocates to Kentucky to get a new start.

Her first client, Rolland Jones, was injured in an automobile accident in Las Vegas. His extensive reconstructive surgery was successful but, it left him with no memory. It is Melanie's job to prepare Rolland for re-entry into society. From the start, there was something about Rolland that touched her in an elemental way. Melanie knows these feelings are forbidden; after all he is her client. Still, Rolland makes her feel like a desirable woman, something her husband had stopped doing. Rolland is also drawn to Melanie, and he lets her know it. The amorous simplicity of his caring and logic is helping Melanie rebuild her trust in men and accept that she wants to love again. Is Rolland the second chance she is looking for, and is she hiding a secret?

THE HUSBAND SHE COULDN'T FORGET is a slow moving almost mysterious read. As I was reading, a question was forming. When an arrest is made Melanie has to come clean, and yes, my question is answered. Ms. Green, has shared a candid story of finding yourself, with or without full mental capacity. The fact that all of the questions were not answered was a plus for me, I had to use my imagination.

This was a classic love story. Pleases read!! I would like to give a hoo ray to Mrs. Carmen Green who seems to be getting back on track with her classic way of writing timeless love stories about individuals who are not afraid to reinvent themselves and take second chances on love.
