4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, would be better with a sequel, September 23, 2010

This review is from: Kiowa Husband (Kentucky Legacy Series, No. 3 / Heartsong Presents, No. 596) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm very picky when it comes to what Christian romance I will read and I surprised myself by liking this book as much as I did. The plot was good and there were no holes that I noticed (and I will usually find them if they are there) and it was well written. It also had a good pace, something important to me because I think most novels move to slow and are too predictable.

My main complaint is that the book seemed to end too suddenly and the "epilogue" was a joke. I would give this book the highest praise if there was or comes a sequel. It was more of a first book of a series than a stand alone.

The whole book is wrapped up with dreams of the life they will find in Oregon, but it ends when they reach there and tells nothing of the life they end up establishing. Again, the epilogue gives no hint to where they really end up or what their life is like there. After a great job getting us to loves these characters, it's a let down not to know how the rest of their life ends up.

I know the Heartsong Presents series has rarely ever done sequels, although I know of one case when they did, I really hope the publishers would consider a sequel for this book. If they do, it would go down on my (short) list of all time favorite books.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book, October 23, 2005
This review is from: Kiowa Husband (Kentucky Legacy Series, No. 3 / Heartsong Presents, No. 596) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a really wonderful book. Sarah Jane is a young girl who is forced to stay behind on a wagon trail because her parents became ill. She is forced to marry Painted Hands. A man who has little to say. Can anything good come out of an arranged marriage?
