I wonder if I read the same book as the other reviewers. This book was soooo boring for me. I kept waiting for it to get better but it really didn't. I hardly felt a connection between the hero and heroine and their romance and the whole story in general was quite drab. Easily a couple of hundred pages could have been removed from this book...too much unnecessary writing - conversations and descriptions not essential to the story that made it even more boring than it was already. I liked the characters and they had the potential for a good story, but it just wasn't there for me. I put this down so many times and read other books while trying to get through this one. Obviously, from the other reviews there are some who really enjoyed this, but I cannot recommend it.

Well, the beginning started out good... It felt like there was something there between Greville and Aurelia. But somewhere along the line it just kind of fell. I'm coming to the conclusion that Jane Feather does not know how to write romance.

I, too, felt that at times I struggled with this book, skimming the pages. But when I came to the part when they first made love, I gave up on the spot. What kind of crap was that? She didn't even write about it!

"They showered, after making love for hours until they were too tired..." or something like that...

This is supposed to be a romance story? No way.

And, my God, does Jane Feather really know how to get off topic. She went on and on and on and on and on about things of absolutely no importance whatsoever. It was so boring, and quite annoying. She doesn't really put much feeling in her books. If you're looking for romance, skip her. Look for Sabrina Jeffries, or Nicole Jordan.

Typical that I would come to the trilogy of the Cavendish Square Ladies with the last book before reading the first two, but it was an absolutely wonderful read and so much better than a typical final book in a trilogy. What made it great was the intense conflict when a widow finds out her husband was not the man she thought he was and yet is expeceted help her country by helping the man who took her husband away from her. Add to this a hero whose cold exterior, which has brought him and his country many successes as a spy, is melted by a woman who he wants only as an able bodied partener in his next mission, but is quick to thaw when his lust turns to love.

Ms Feather has quite an intense romance here and though the book ends in the typical HEA there is nothing typical in the journey to get the reader to the last page Though the ending is a bit abrupt, tying up all the lose ends of the friendship of Nell, Ellie and Liv, one can only hope with delightful Franny, Stevie, Susannah, Zoe and William maybe there will be a next generation to look forward to.

A HUSBAND'S WICKED WAYS is romance at its best, sure to statisfy the most descriminating reader. I couldn't put it down.

Was the opposite of what I'd expect a romance novel to be. Too negative in tone.

After reading 260 pages, I feel I am qualified to give an opinion as to why I stopped. Boring. The one star goes to the premise having a heroine spy. The romance between the main characters was stilted. Their first intimate love scene happened so fast that it was disappointing and lackluster. Having read gazillion regency romances, this book was written by far too prudish on how the characters spoke and behaved. If you want a warmhearted yet sexy tale in the days of long ago, pick up a Karen Robards' novel. She is exceptional. Her earlier novels are historical with great plots, twists and turns, and characters you will care about unlike this story.

I stumbled upon Jane Feather in a book store, tried one book, like it. Tried another liked it, and have thus become a fan of her novels. These are good romance novels when one needs an escape from daily life. Her book is enjoyable and just what I need at times.

I love all Jane Feather's books. Such a great writer. Keeps me curios all the way through the book. My brother is not a book reader BUT I have him reading Jane Feather books and he loves them. I cannot put a Jane AFeather book down once I start reading them. Thanks Amazon for haveing the books for me to order. I will not order books from anyone else just Amazon!!!

Of the three books in the tri I would rate this one as the best. The characters were more likeable and flowed well with each other and we still had a glance at the previous main characters. Overall a nice tri.

Aurelia Farnham was widowed three years ago and had become accustomed to her life with her daughter. When Greville Falconer reveals that her late husband was a spy, her world is turned upside down. And when Greville asks her to help him with his latest mission, she makes the biggest leap of her life.

Greville teaches Aurelia the art of being a spy. While her mission is mostly to help introduce Greville to the ton and keep an eye out for strange occurrences, it soon becomes more than that. Their cover as an engaged couple begins to seem very real to both of them. And when Aurelia's life is in danger, both discover just how far they will go for their country and for love.

I am a fan of Ms. Feather's but I was left a little disappointed with A Husband's Wicked Ways, the third in a series. Greville is the best part of the story. He's the consummate spy - no attachments, no emotional ties. It's wonderful to watch as he falls for Aurelia. I had a hard time believing Aurelia's character would do some of the things she does. The story is intriguing, if possibly overly drawn out. When I look back on the book, the main image I have is of Greville, who nearly makes up for any lack in the rest of the book.

Jane Feather has a way of developing interesting characters and catching the flavor of Regency England without undue detail. This latest in her Cavendish Square trilogy was a fun read, embodied the requisite tension and sensual details. The villian was somewhat one-dimensional. I recommend it for a rainy weekend!
