5.0 out of 5 stars missing piece of your oh so indie puzzle, December 30, 2000

NOT JUST ANOTHER INDIE BAND

With John Atkins on guitar/vocals, Andy Rohrman on drums, and John Wickhart on bass, Hush Harbor's self-title 5 song ep was unfortunatly their only release. Vocals that turn your insides out (emotionally speaking of course) , ringing guitars, sharp percussions, and bass lines that pump the blood to your little rasin heart, only to leave you begging for more. From beginning to end this album speaks for itself, hush harbor indeed.

These guys started playing together and touring in 1993. It wasn't until 1995 that they recorded their only album with Phil Ek (Built to Spill, Juned) on Up Records. John Atkins is now the singer/vocalist of 764 Hero, Andy Rohrman is Scientific America (remixes include 764 hero, Hotwater Music, Modest Mouse, and Red Stars Theory), and John Wickhart recorded the Blue-Cadet 7" with Modest Mouse and now plays in Mavis Piggot. Other pursuits include Red Stars Theory, Bell Jar, and Lync.

Pure emo as it used to be and should still be. This is one of the few albums in my library where ever track is five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars high school angst, June 8, 2003

i listened to this cd constantly in high school. it's got the perfect mix of sadness, anger and dejection that any emotional teenager could want. five years later it still churns all my feelings up inside. it's really beautiful.

764-HERO would later expound upon these emotions with much more variety. but they could never get back to the raw tenderness of this album.
