4.0 out of 5 stars She did what she could, but not what it took..., March 18, 2005

Liz recorded this in the mid-90's as a teenager and that sort of teen angst and unpolished talent from that era in her life certainly shines through on this evocative recording. This album precedes a more recent collection of songs for another album due out later this year. She certainly has a certain haunting and soulful presence to her voice and live she is quite amazing, spellbinding even. There are many moments in this album that are just truly gorgeous. It's a very unpolished sound though, and is sometimes overly simplistic and lacking in direction. Still yet there is a lot of beauty to glean here, expect great things out of her in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Relaxing, simple; dark elements, January 18, 2010

This album is great. It's consistent throughout unlike many schizoid albums by other artists who may have a sparse melody and then the next track will be a showy, broadway-type tune. That is not this album. This album feels well-put together yet simplistic and really lets her voice shine through. I've never heard other albums of hers but I am looking forward to it after "Husk".

5.0 out of 5 stars seen her live!, February 23, 2005
This review is from: Husk (Audio CD)
So I haven't actually bought this CD yet but I have heard Liz Durrett live on two separate occasions and was completely blown away by her talent both times. Her songs are subtle and some have a dark, moody vibe. They're really haunting and beautiful with unique, fresh lyrics that make you think. I'm a huge fan and way excited about this CD because I have no doubt that it will be fantastic! If you want something new and interesting buy it!
