Received this yesterday and after some effort got it unboxed and put together. Not simple but doable with careful reading and patience. Amazon delivery was fast and delivery man was very good to work with. First impressons are a pain to control speed forward because no indication in the controls of where you have it set. Wasn't able to find both reverse settings? Would be much simpler to have notches to lock setting. It appears only the lowest setting is usable since anything else I used went too fast to work with. Only has one engine speed so is what it is. Seems to be okay but not what I am use to and wonder how will it perform in heavy snow? Oil check is a joke it appears. The dip stick is located at the top of the crank case so looks like it is resting in the oil near horizontal. There is a filler tube at top but no way to check from there. All adjustments while working are push levers down or in and then change settings. Something to get use to and right now a annoyance. Seems to hold quite a bit of gas so that is a plus. The snow blower looks good and at first try the steering assist seems to be a nice addition. Had to lower the skid plates due to the unit hanging on a few days old snow ruts (some ice maybe) in the driveway resulting in rough jerking back and forth of the whole machine. Liked my previous 30" 10hp Yard-Man(MTD)better at this point and it ran for fifteen years with no issues.

I haven't had a chance to use it yet... : No snow... The reviews were great on this unit and the price was right... I was a bit concerned about the shipping... I sort of expected it to have to be lifted off truck but that was not the case...The company that delivered had a dolly and pulled it from the street to the garage... Packing was excellent and the assembly was about a 20 minute job... One thing I didn't see right away were the keys to start it... They are attached to the starter handle with a wire tie... Another nice touch is they include a multi-tool that can be used for assembly and it has a little box mounted on top front of blower for storing it along with the 6 shear pins they enclose in the package... I will add to review as soon as I use it... We had over 10 feet of snow last year so I expect as much this year... The controls all work smoothly now but it is still not in a snow situation... The chute is all metal which I like as it lets snow slide easier and it should discharge further...

The 414 cc motor is massive compared to the rest of the competitors (normally equipped with 200cc or 250cc motors) and offers tremendous amount of power, to the point that this beast is very difficult to keep down and more in general to maneuver. I added a weight bar and things improved but not as I wished or expected (I'm wondering if I should try to add a second weight bar). The tires (perhaps the problem is determined by the wrong inflating pressure) are not that great either: maybe because of the high power they tend to slip too much to further detriment to the general maneuverability. The mouth is massive but, somehow, the blades seem to be undersized (especially if compared to an Ariens). The thrower does a good, realiable and consistent job, however, the one thing that I'm really unpleased with are the lateral skid-shoes: the machine comes with basic, cheap, metal skid shoes: don't know if they need to be adjusted but they tend to "scrape" too much on the pavement and sometimes the whole mouth gets stuck. I'm considering uprading to the non-abrasive composite material, or perhaps even the rolling version skid shoes, and see if that improves maneuverability. The electric start is a great feature and guarantees prompt ignition even in the coldest weather.

Yeah I know - here is another snow blower review without snow to blow. I cannot make snow but I can share my thoughts on this unit.I had been watching this unit all season and it was the end of season discount that drove me to bite. Good value IMO. Crate is big but appropriate. Shipping company did a nice job and delivered into my garage (despite my long narrow drive - reason for purchase!!). No damage to packaging at all. They called in advance to schedule delivery and again 1 hour before delivery. Great service! Assembly was straight forward and took 20 minutes or so. Everything goes where it should. Nothing missing and nothing extra (other than shear bolts). It is not a complex assembly. It could be assembled by someone with no real mechanical skill in under an hour with the instructions. I am not sure about the ordeal the other reviewer went through - Maybe turn the light on!!. Unit was not as heavy to move around as I expected. Quite robust but in no way compares to my Husky walk behind mower. Looks plenty adequate for the task. Did not take much gas - less than a gallon (have not read instructions as to how much exactly). Guess I may need to carry a gas can down the driveway just in case. Was already filled with oil. Not sure the other reviewers complaint about the dipstick. Is actually more accurate the way it is installed. Think someone just wanted to complain! Priming and prep for starting was very straight forward. I did not read the instructions once more but decided to hand start it rather than electric (since no one had mentioned hand starting). It fired to life before the first pull was complete so I cannot say anything bad about that. She is plenty loud (especially in my garage). Controls were easy to learn and work. I can understand complaints about the drive speed not having detents to in indicate speed position. Not a deal breaker since the adjustment would be all over the place with time anyway. But slow is a lot further down the scale than you would expect. Overall the unit is a little smaller than anticipated. It is light and maneuverable both with the controls or when not running. I have to give it 5 stars out of the box. I will update this review should I see more snow this season and add more images or possibly video. (sorry the images I uploaded did not end up in order??)

Controls are a bit hard to get used to. Would do better with more weight in the front. Has a tendency to go over the snow instead of into the snow. I think it's worth the money. Just have to see how long it will last. The price is good only because it has a cheap Chinese made engine. Chinese engines are not known to last very long at all.
