I ordered these based on the title and description of the item on the AMAZON.COM web site. They arrived and are nice leather work gloves. HOWEVER, the documentation that is stapled inside the set of gloves specifically states, "This is not a special cut-retardant glove intended for chainsaw operation." The gloves look like the ones in the picture, but another Husqvarna cut-retardant item I ordered shows chain saw gloves very similar to these but have an extra blue pad on the palm. I will use these with my chainsaw, but will remain cautious as I always plan to be. Knowing these gloves are are not cut-retardant is nice to know, but I have other leather gloves for a lot less than the $25 paid for these. These will probably be returned for a refund.

These gloves are not the real deal, they are fake and serve to mislead the buyer.
I own 2 pairs or real Husky chainsaw gloves so I know what I am talking about.
The padding in the left hand glove is fake and the description of "chain saw protective gloves" should be immediately removed by Amazon as it serves to deceive buyer as other have said, the fine print accompanying the gloves tells you specifically that they
are NOT chainsaw gloves so what the hell are they being sold as them!
I can understand that some scumbag seller is prepared to con people with no morals and prepared for a purchaser to have accident and severe tendons / blood supply or joints in their hand because the PPE they purchased is fake but what I cannot understand is why Amazon having been told in numerous previous reviews, continues to do nothing about this product. It need to either be removed or be rebadged to not refer to chainsaw protective. They are just coloured leather gloves made to look like Husqvarna gloves. This is a safety issue and should be addressed.

After one day of relatively light use, all but one of the finger tips on right glove are coming apart at the seams. The left glove is holding up better, but just barely. The label 'chainsaw protective' seems dubious at best as the lack of good construction quality makes me apprehensive to use them for any yard work.

The sizing seems a bit off as well. I typically find a large size glove fits me perfectly but these gloves have extra room in the fingers. Not horrible but enough to be annoying and slightly uncomfortable.

If you're looking for a well built protective glove stay away from these. Invest a bit more and get a nice pair of Stihl protective mitts. (the only ones I wear that make my hands feel well protected)

after opening the package , the first thing i noticed was a sheet of paper stating these are not proctive gloves ...(maybe from slivers)..they are nothing more than a pair of gloves that you can buy from a hardware store for 5 bucks . am not sure if the seller is missleading , or there was a mistake made when they shipped them . this is the first bad review i ever wrote , i am very disapointed

Chainsaw protective gloves these are NOT. The label says: 'Five fingered gloves' and this is a real description.
In the instructions it says they are intended for MINOR RISKS only. Not a special cut- retardant gloves for chainsaw operation.
I would not have bought them if I knew that.
Too much trouble to return from Australia.

I recently purchased a new Husqvarna chainsaw and decided to get a new pair of gloves as well. I read positive reviews on these gloves from other sites, so I decided to get a pair to match my chainsaw. When they arrived I was immediately disappointed. The leather is paper thin and the construction feels cheap. I tried them on and there was a noticeable size difference between the left and right gloves. The left glove with the "protective material" has a pad inside to protect the back of the hand, but the material was much thinner than what I've seen on other gloves. There doesn't seem to be enough material to protect your hand from any chain accident. The leather was surprisingly stiff for being so thin. The instruction booklet also states that these are for low risks only. Honestly I don't think these gloves would be useful for anything other than gardening. Based on other reviews I've read, I'm wondering if I got a knock-off pair that somehow ended up in Amazon's inventory. Thankfully Amazon has a great return policy.

It looks like there is some conflicting info about whether or not these are anything more than glorified leather work gloves.

One review from Aug 2014 mentions that these gloves saved their hand, yet there's a lot of people saying they are fakes and are useless. Who's right???

I took a risk and bought some anyway as I was looking for some affordable hand protection with the convenience of ordering from Amazon and set out to find the truth without trying a chainsaw on them!

First the obvious facts:

1) there was a warning tag on them stating they are not designed to stop chainsaws etc.
2) the back of the left glove is definitely more padded

I turned the left glove partially inside out and found that it had an extra layer of soft tan coloured fabric sewn on the inside, underneath of which was the padding. So what was the padding made of?

While holding the outer layer away from the 'padding' as best I could, I rolled a little of the inner liner back and forth between my fingers and encouragingly felt something inside that was slippery which suggested to me the presence of Kevlar.

Determined to find out what was really inside, I made a small incision in the inner liner near the edge away from the thumb area and after teasing a little out, found that it has what I think is Kevlar between the inner and outer fabrics (see picture).

I'll leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions, but I now have confidence that these gloves have protection and will work a LOT better than plain leather work gloves.

Happy and safe cutting everyone!
