Stay away from this over priced mower and buy a Honda if you want a premium push mower.

Initially this lawn mower worked GREAT right out of the box. I was very happy with it. After about 4 weeks it started acting strange, with the engine randomly dying and then having trouble starting. I contacted Husqvarna and was told to take it to a repair center. Now is where I began my education on the world of lawn mower warranties.

The Husqvarna repair center determined that the problem was with the engine, and that they wouldn't touch it because Husqvarna won't warranty work done on the engine because it's made by Honda. Whaaaaat? This is the reason why your lawn mower comes with two warranty packages, one from Husqvarna and one from Honda. The problem begins here... the Husqvarna repair center says Honda is responsible because it's an engine problem. Honda says it's not the engine, it's the transmission. Aaaand now the infinite loop begins. Neither company wants to be responsible for paying for the repair. I purchased the mower on June 1st, the problems began around July 5th. It is now August 14th and the mower hasn't operated properly for almost 6 weeks.. and I can't get it taken care of. I even asked Husqvarna to simply swap the mower for another one and they flatly refused, stating that they "don't do that". Then I asked if they would authorize me taking it to a dealer and having THEM swap it, again I was told "no". The kicker is that if I had just purchased an actual HONDA mower, I wouldn't have to deal with this garbage of two different warranties and two different companies.

I am extremely disappointed in Husqvarna's warranty and customer service, which makes me sad because I can never again recommend their products for the simple fact that they do not stand by their warranties. I wanted everyone to know what they're getting into before they buy a Husqvarna product that uses another company's parts.

This is an update to my review from last year - I'm downgraded my rating from 5 stars to 1! My mower ran fine last summer. I put it away for the winter in a climate controlled garage. Upon taking it out this season it no longer mows as it did - it has almost no power. Last season I could barely keep up with the mower and it would literally pull me up hills. Now it barely moves. I can still mow with it, but it is a shadow of what it was. At the end of last season I completed all recommended storage tasks and upon taking the mower out this spring warmed it up and immediately changed the oil. There is no question something happened with the AWD drive system simply sitting over the winter. Add on other annoyances noted by others, Mainly the horrible clumping due to the poorly designed mulch plug, the weight (an issue when the drive system is under preforming) the ineffective deck wash system, and less than robust deck height adjustment system and they all add up to a mower with a number of annoyances. When combined with the price what might be a 2 star mower is a 1 star FAIL. As elated as I was with the mower last season, I'm every bit as disappointed this spring. Stay away from this over priced mower and buy a Honda if you want a premium push mower.

(This had been the title of my previous review) This mower exceeds ALL expectations!
This mower is simply awesome! There is no compare! I'm not one to typically write a review about a product, but I feel compelled to do so in this case. In today's age, it is very uncommon for something to live up to its marketing hype - this mower meets every claim, assertion and expectation, then completely *crushes* them! I can honestly say that this mower is worth every penny!

UPDATE: September 2014... I really wanted to like it but same problem happened again(removed 1 star). Took over a year for it to occur this time. I do have that extended warranty so it should be repaired/replaced free of charge. I searched online for this issue and apparently it isn't just me. Other people have had the same problem. Not sure if I can just get a different replacement this time. I gave it a second chance and it failed. I believe it is a design flaw with grass accumulating in the front gear box compartment.

I purchased this mower from a large retail chain that rhymes with MOWES. I had the mower for just about 30 days before I ran into a interesting problem.

First off I want to say I've used the mower maybe 6 times in the 30 day period. The mower ran very well. It takes some getting use to with the all wheel drive. I did find it at times was pulling me around instead of the other way. I was finally able to tame the beast. I do have a pretty steep slope in my backyard. This worked perfectly. The manual is pretty nicely detailed and understandable with diagrams. There was my first time purchasing a mower brand new so I can not equally compare it to any used mowers I have owned in the past. Althought comparing it to a troybilt one I was using there was no competition. The Honda engine on the Husqvarna had so much more power. Took cutting my lawn from almost 3 hrs down to less than 1. I can also say I have a 1/3 acre lot and I can mow it without having to refill the gas tank. Also if you follow the instructions in the manual properly you can get one additional oil change with the oil provided. The manual recommends you pour oil in for the first run and change it immediately after.
