1. Does not bring simple intructions for assembly and use... Just clustered pictographic instructions.(need to be an Egiptologist to understand)
2. But,.... It was easy to assemble based on youtube videos that I looked at and made it simple.. Thank God for YouTube!
3. I filled the oil tank to the brim and it leaked oil like crazy, but it stopped at 75% full. I turned it upside down, no leak. Checked the oiler for proper function (rev it up in front of a piece of cardboard to see if it sprays the cardboard) and it worked.
4. It started after a couple of pulls. Very nice!!
5. Cut a foot wide (20 feet long) limb in about 30 seconds. The whole limb in 5 min total cut time.
6. Compare to my old Poulan Pro, it is heaven.
7. The no-tools bar-fastening and chain tightening is great! Loosen the hand driven lever to unscrew the nut and move the plastic (black) gear looking wheel to adjust tension. Then, re-tighten the bar and presto! See: [...]
8. Does not get as dirty as others. Has a system to eject sawdust away from chain
9. Overall: Excellent. Hopefully I will not find an oil leak again....If so, I will have to modify this review...
10. Price was excellent too!!
11. After few uses, no oil leak. But, I discovered that the no-tool nut, unscrews with the vibration and the chain came loose. It got bent and had to buy a new one. Tighten real good!
12. Also, the brake was stuck and had to go to YouTube got find out how to re-set it. If you can not move the chain manually, the brake is stuck. To re-set it go to: [...]

First off let me say, the same review was refused by Husqvarna.com (after asking that I review the product by them - filled out warranty information). They refused my review as being too critical of the product. So take the reviews on their corporate site with a grain of salt. Clearly they only want stellar reviews there, accuracy notwithstanding. Anyway...

The item is made in the USA which is a major selling point to me. Upon receipt of the item I was concerned however. The chainsaw was covered in grease - plastic and all. It was as though the packing person had played in grease while packing the item. It was everywhere - no attempt had been made to clean it. Used, I thought. I paid for new after all. I disassembled the saw to access the chain sprocket etc looking for saw dust, debris, whatever I could find to prove used to me. I found nothing, perfectly clean and in perfect order. So I concluded it was new, just careless packing.

Added the fuel and chain oil - followed the directions on starting. It fired right up, no stall, no sputter etc. After running it a bit, checking chain, oil pump, chain brake etc - check. Good to go.

Put it to work. Worked perfectly and flawlessly. Excellent chain saw. Feels well made. What I expect made in the USA to be, save for the grease on it in the beginning. I would recommend and would buy it again. I won't fault the design and quality on careless greasy hands. The saw has plenty of power for felling trees and limbs etc as needed. Moreover, it has solid piston and internal parts to last. Yes it might increase the weight, but perhaps it will earn it years of more life. If your a lumberjack or someone using it everyday you might review the durability differently but for the homeowner, it will do all that I will ever need.

This chainsaw was purchased to deal with downed trees and prune trees around our home and it was a great choice. The Husqvarna 450E makes short use of limbs of 8 to 14 inches. It starts well and runs smoothly. My wife finds using it manageable and is not challenged in any way. It is fast and cuts smoothly without the jerking we had on our old McCulloch.

On the negative side, the instruction book full off small (less than 1 square inch illustrations) is almost useless. I assume they do not expect people in their mid 40's to purchase their product but larger illustrations would be helpful. However, even when you can read the manual it is of little use. We went to the YouTube where there were good videos as well as the company web site. They need to improve this.

Recommended without hesitation.

I gave this saw 4 stars because of the manual. It's pretty bad. To put the bar on you need to remove what they call a "transport guard" which is a plastic washer. If you don't the clutch cover will not fit right and you will get into trouble with the brake not working and locking in place so you can't unlock it. They need to make this clearer and the pictures are tiny and all crammed together and not on the same page as the written directions. It's ridiculous. A "transport guard" is a plastic washer used for spacing on the powerhead clutch cover without it's bar. Not a "transport guard".

I have been around chainsaws for years and actually had trouble putting the bar and chain on because it is a different system than the 2 nut system. It's actually better and easier to use once you get the hang of it.

Everything on the saw works well, I like the tool less tensioning now that I am used to it. It is convenient out in the woods to quickly adjust your tension. People with chains flying off, well, when you first run the saw you need to check and readjust your tension after every couple big cuts as the chain stretches. Do this for a while and you will be fine. And really tightened the nut knob well, can't imagine it vibrating loose if you torque it down with moderate hand strength. It all just takes a little patience.

This saw has all the power and revs most landowners that cut 12 to 24 inch trees for fire wood and clearing brush need. You can do everything with it and the weight is just right. Just a bit heavier than a 40cc saw. If it's your first saw purchase get a 40cc and you will feel safer. I also clear up blown down trees for people on occasion and this saw will be fine for that occasional professional work. Because it has plastic on it does not make it a cheap.
