This review is from: Hutchins' University: A Memoir of the University of Chicago, 1929-1950 (Centennial Publications of The University of Chicago Press) (Paperback)
Dr. McNeill was a neighbor when I lived in Hyde Park. He was generous, a gentleman and had a wide rangng knowledge of the civilized world. He was a student while Hutchins' headed the University of Chicago. His book filled a gap in my knowledge of what it was like to be in the atmosphere created by Hutchins and his contemporaries. A fascinating personal and moving account. Highly recommended.
