The sides of the clear lid can expanded to fit larger cuts, but after the first few uses the lid will NOT fit back onto the base without some serious effort.

On the positive notes of this: The spikes are very sharp and stay sharp after several months of use. I use mine now as two bases and just flip the meats after time.

Seeing the price here on Amazon is a horrible price, I got mine from a local supermarket for $5.00 and that was a decent price for the intention of this item.
