I have been making "gun" cookies for fify-five years and have used five or six different types of cookie press and this one is the best one I have ever used. Just mix up the dough (my favorite is the spritz), put it in the gun, click the handle a couple of times and start pressing and nineteen out of twenty cookies come out perfectly. I make them every Christmas and have done so since I was a teenager and baked them by the hundreds and sold them to my brother's office mates and so have had a lot of experience with cookie presses. This one is truly the best ever.

This is an excellent little "machine"! I had an older, hand-turned cookie press that was really wreaking havoc on my arthritis - this one is a great replacement. I was worried that the cookies would not be small and thin like the ones my old press made, but I was pleasantly surprised - these cookies were perfect!

I've had this cookie press for years, using it mostly for Spritz cookies which come out perfectly every time. Yesterday I accidently dropped it on the floor and a piece of the plastic handle broke off. It's still usable, but I'd like to replace it. Looked at all the different types out there and decided that this has worked perfectly for years, so I will replace it with the same thing. Also, arthritis was not a problem when I started baking cookies, but it's creeping in - this press works so easily without twisting or squeezing that anyone with arthritis can use it. It has a ratcheting lever. There's very little dough left in the barrel when finished and it's easy to clean. The plastic is pretty sturdy; I got years worth of service out of mine before I broke it. Can't complain. I'm ordering another one just like it.

My wife was looking forward to using this easy action cookie press. The first one we recieved before Christmas so she could make Christmas cookies. You could not get the thing to click to squeeze out the batter, so return it and figured it was a bad one. Recieved the 2nd one after Christmas so tried it and it maybe worked slightly better, if you wiggled it around you might be able to get it to click but you would totally ruin the cookies. I am returning this one and looking for a different brand. This item does not work at all!!!!

I was given this cookie press as a gift after the one I used growing up finally broke. I thought this one looked good, but when pressing the dough down, it doesn't click back into place. I have to wiggle the handle to get it to click, and then it releases the cookie. The cookies, due to having to wiggle the handle, are always a little bit bigger and often do not look like the shape they are suppose to. Not by any means, is this an easy press due to the fact it isn't a one (or two) click press.

Maybe mine is defective. ?

I ordered this for Christmas thinking it could speed up making cookies but it did the opposite. I ended up working on this cookie press instead the cookie itself. It took time to make a perfect cookie

I bought this cookie press to replace two other types I had at home, and I'm glad I did. It makes beautifully formed cookies with ease. With one click (supposedly) they come out the right size, all of them uniform. I would have given this product 5 stars, except the gear mechanism on mine catches and requires 2 clicks generally to produce a cookie. Not just for Christmas cookies either. Looks like they have spring flower shapes, and 4th of July fireworks shape.

This cookie press also makes pasta (that's what the company says; I haven't tried it yet). The disk for pasta looks like it makes a thick spaghetti noodle.
There are also "disks" for frosting and whipped cream (for making decorator shapes and also filling food items like eclairs and doughnuts), but I haven't tried this function.

The problem with my old cookie presses:
My old electric cookie press wouldn't release cookies unless you forced out too much dough, so the cookies were huge and misshaped. Works, but the idea of a cookie press is to make cookies with cute, identifiable holiday shapes.

The expensive one I bought at one of those kitchen home parties worked for one year, and then stopped. The clear plastic tube (filled with dough) popped off every time I tried to make a cookie. Useless.

My first sheet of cookies worked well but you did have to pump the handle twice for each cookie. The next sheets didn't work well at all. I emptied the press, washed it, reloaded and tried again but still had trouble with it punching out cookies, sometimes I needed to wiggle the cap and then pump 2-4 times to get the thing to work. I haven't tried it again, but will do so using the recipe that came with it. However, I think you should be able to use your own family recipes without so much trouble.
