Buttons need too much pressure,
This review is from: Hy-Tek Tek Partner BW0561RD Universal Remote Control (Electronics)
It works, but I was a little disappointed because the buttons require considerable pressure to respond. I bought it for my Mother -in-law but she quit using it after frustration of touching the buttons which did not work without pressing quite hard.

Do not buy this remote! It has many flaws.
1. This remote will not operate a DISH Network HD Receiver. None of the supplied codes work and the "seek" feature for codes doesn't work either. 2. It will only power on/off and raise/lower the volume on a Vizio TV. It will operate the input switch, but it skips terribly, so you might think you've selected the correct input and in a few seconds it will skip ahead. For a hanicapped person, this is exceedingly frustrating. 3. It will power on a Magnavox Blue Ray player, but will not power off. It will play, stop, pause, FF and RW, but it will not allow you to select any of the menu options. 4. The buttons are VERY hard to press - even for a person who is physically capable. I purchased this as a Christmas present for my brother who is quadraplegic. He was so excited. We have spent hours programing and reprogramming it ... trying to get it to do just the basic things that the small remotes do. I have called the manufacturer and, after holding for a decent amount of time, was put into voice mail. I never received a call back, as they promised. I e-mailed the manufacturer twice. I recieved one response ... and it was just a copy and paste from the FAQ section. My second e-mail went unanswered. Everything about this purchase has been a let down. I wish I'd never purchased the Hy-Tek Tek Partner.

I sent this to my parents & my dad had problems at first getting it to program. They have a sharp tv, but now it's working. My mom loves it.

I purchased this for my mother who has trouble seeing. Come to find out she had lost her memory of numbers and couldn't use it. I liked it myself so instead of returning it I use it at night when I can't see.

Bought this for my aged parents. While it did manage to connect to the Television and turn it on and off, it was unable to connect to either the Samsung Cable box or the Go Video DVD/VCR box. When I called the manufacturer help line I was bluntly told that there was nothing I could do to make the remote function with either. In short, the term "Universal remote" is completely misleading. This remote is a rip-off.

Perfect for Low-Vision,

Remotes for cable boxes and televisions are getting more complicated with the addition of new buttons to control new features. Unfortunitely the size of the remotes remain the same, making buttons smaller and harder to find for low-vision television watchers. This remote is the best remote I have found for a low-vision family member.

Have had remote 3 weeks and still can't get it to work like advertized. Have emailed company, with no response. Will probably send it back this week-end. The instruction manuel is very little help, website not much better. Buttons are large enough for elderly to see, but if it doesn't work ..........

The first remote like this was purchased in April 2004 and that one gave up end of 2011.
I found the same exact remote on Amazon. The big buttons are easier to use and the curve of the bottom helps it sit on the arm of my chair. I had no problem getting it set up to work with my TV

This came in early, packaged well and in even better condition that expected. It's going to work out great for my elderly mom who sees very badly. It's big enough for her to see, the shape makes it easy to hold onto and she can see the buttons. Thanks!

The buttons were a little hard to push. Also, when we had it set up, we realized that we couldn't change the channels and the volume both on the new remote. We found another one that cost a lot less and worked better.
