First of all, the picture is misleading. There are only two horizontal bars, not four as shown, that hold up the coated metal grids. If installed properly (screwed onto the ceiling rafters), the system is very strong and sturdy. It took me about half hour to install each of the three I put up in my garage. You can adjust the height of the storage unit from about 18" to 26". Nice system, maybe a little pricey.

I have a garage with a high ceiling and room for two cars, but little else. Storage space is a premium. I bought two of these HyLoft systems, installed them (5 hours it took), and now wish I'd have had them years ago.

The worst part for me was finding studs. I'm too cheap to buy a stud finder, don't really need one. So finding the middle of the studs was the most time-consuming part of the installation. A hassle.

There is a video that comes with these units, and you can pretty much know what to do after watching it.

If you think it will only take two hours to install, expect it to take longer than that, especially if you don't do this sort of thing for a living. But it's worth the time investment.

They look very neat once completed, and when my garage door is open, they even look nice from the street, looking in. They're the best thing to come along since garage door openers.

Just installed 8 units. Need some tools, and definitely a stud finder. But they are great. Only probelm I had was the plastic end pieces for the lower support rods. They would not stay in place. Gives a great video on how to install. Amazon's price was the best around by almost $20. Could use some better support to tie multiple units together, but had no problem doing it. All the hardware was perfect, except 1 nut was not manufactured correctly. had not threads in it. Again, a great product.

I have two and want some more. It took about an hour to install
load and it is done. Found nothing wrong in the month the 2 have been up.

Installation is a piece of cake if you watch the video first since the written instructions are poorly written (as with most products). I recommend assembling the support arms before installing the ceiling brackets. This makes for fewer trips up an down the ladder and decreased my installation time significantly. Great product.

Once you have all the pieces laid out and your measurments done installation is a snap. I highly recommend using cordless power tools for every nut and bolt, it "GREATLY" increases installation time. Once installed its a very sturdy and trustworthy design. There is slight side to side movement that is easily rectiifed. The system freed up so much floor space and is appealing to the eye. The product is worth every cent and second of instalation.

I bought two of these and they are even better than the ad suggests. The only downside is that the manufacturer should really include the drill-nutdriver bit with the kits. They are cheap (mine cost $2.00) but not always easy to find. Working overhead with a hand ratchet winding into old lumber is the pits! Still, an outstanding item. I reclaimed my garage floor space without having to hang any ugly wall shelving or sacrifice floor space to those metal shelf units.

i am very delighted with hyloft storage i purchased..tried to rent the extra space to my son for sleeping ha ha i had a friend hang them for me took him maybe an hour --and loaded them as soon as he left items dont weigh as much as allowed but i have 6 folding chairs 3 barstools a larggggge bird cage,a cat carrier,box of extra hangers,wicker sewing table,antique end table,vanity bench,extra rugs,bird feeders and car washing bucket and rags. plus i am hanging flowers that i picked from garden on hooks under all stuff! the quality and function are worth every penny

I've seen this in custom homes for awhile. I bought it, installed it, and was using it within 2 hours. Easy to install and the video included makes it even easier.

This storage unit works great and is easy to install. This is a good way to get the clutter off the garage floor to make room for more important things, (like the car). I'm very impressed and am buying a second unit. I recommend highly!
