This review is for Hada Labo Tokyo Replenishing Hydrator [Super Hyaluronic Acid]. I just started using the Hydrator and am thus far extremely impressed. I've used various products that contain Hyaluronic Acid as well as pure HA on my skin for several years all with good results. However this product seems different and more than lives up to its claims. After learning about Hada Labo from a popular online beauty site and prior to purchase, I researched the product and it's company. According to the Hada Labo /Rohto Pharmaceutical website, it is the first Japanese skincare line to become available in the U.S. and is the 2nd largest consumer health company in Japan. Noting that Japanese women seem to always have gorgeous skin I felt it was worth a try.

Pros:
1- Instantly makes your skin feel silky soft
2- Soaks in quickly so that you can follow it almost immediately with additional moisturizer, primer or foundation
3- No noticeable smell
4- Does indeed "plump" fine lines also smooth's out and firms your skin
5- According to company literature, you can even "pat" this serum over your foundation - I tried this technique after a long day when my skin felt rather dry. I was surprised to discover that it worked! I fully expected it to disturb my foundation but instead it just disappeared into my skin and softened the lines on my eye lids and mouth without streaking or changing my foundation or my eye [powder] eye shadow.
6- Very reasonably priced. The article where I first heard about this product listed several other similar HA products some priced at $100+ with others in the $50 range, HL's Replenishing Hydrator was the least expensive which is what prompted me to give it a try first.

I had read lots of good things about this lotion both online and in magazines. I had read that it had a liquid consistency rather than a creamy one, which I am more used to. It's good, but not the best I've ever used, and certainly not worth the $25 pricetag...plus the shipping from overseas. I had to sign for it (for some reason) and when I wasn't there, they took it back to the post office so had to make a trip there to get it. For moisturizer! I haven't noticed an appreciable difference in my skin, but it is nice and does work to moisturize...but not better than anything else I've tried.

Hada Labo is my new favorite moisturizer. I am a 50+ female with combination skin. My skin feels softer than ever before with absolutely no residue and a pea-sized dab covers my entire face. I plan to buy more from this Japanese line, possibly with retinol.
