Understated, fluid, majestic, and wierd, January 15, 2006

Marcos Fernandes is the founder of the experimental music record label Accretions. He is also a vey talented percussionist, drummer, electronic musician, and record prducer. This is his first "solo" album, following a long musical career performing with Burning Briges, Wormhole Effect, Trummerflora Collective, Ultra 7, Marcelo Radulovich, Hans Fjellestad, Abel Ashes and The Runs, Barefoot Hockey Goalie, Jason Robinson, and many others.
Hybrid Vigor features such notables as contabass legend Lisle Ellis, west coast saxaphone virtuoso Jason Robinson, Percussionists Kristy Cheadle, Nathan Hubbard (Cosmologic), Robert Montoya,Philip Gelb, David Gould. Also features pianist Hans Fjellestad, guitarists Damon Holzborn and Scott Homan and trombonist Michael Dessen and bassist Joscha Oetz.
Hybrid Vigor is a mixture of acoustic and electric elements with a liberal amount of audio samples and phonography, including recordings of Fernandes's deceased Uncle playing ukelee. Beautiful album.
