Works great. Almost no dust escapes. No complants or reservations. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Best of all, it's not made in China.

I have used this item on a dozen or so projects. it is excelent. I t is a bit of a nusance to sand with a hose hanging there but you quickly get used to managing it. The dust dog comes with a lightweight flexible hose section that helps a lot. For the money it can not be beat. Sure if you are doing 10,000 SF of rock get a pro system. But this has held up well and captures 95%+ of the dust. If you are going to be using it a lot consider gettin a longer hose for your shop vac so you can set it, and it's noise somewhere else

This is a good product, I would recommend to anyone doing small to medium sized jobs around the house. I had taken out an old gas fireplace insert and had to put up new drywall. I also put in brand new hardwood floors and did not want them covered in dust. I ordered this thing and there was literly no dust on the floor when I was done. The screen that comes with it isn't that great, I would recommend buying a pack of your own. I just hooked up to a normal ShopVac and it worked great. Don't forget to clean the filter out when your done or even during the job, it will get clogged up with all the fine dust.

Purchased this to try it out based on other reviewers. This is a must have product for sanding drywall, I'll never sand drywall without it. At first I found the suction to be a little too much using my Rigid 1450 shop vac with dust bags and a little bulky using the 2 1/2" shop vac hose and adapter even after adjusting the rings on the handle. I then used the 11 foot 1 1/4" hose from my Craftsman Craftsman 5 pc. Car Cleaning Kit (best $20 I ever spent besides this Hyde sander) that has a built in 2 1/2" adapter to connect directly into my shop vac or to the 2 1/2" shop vac hose with the included coupling for another 6 feet of hose. The other end of the Craftsman hose connects directly into the Hyde hose (without any adapters) so I have 17" feet of lighweight 1 1/4" hose with just the right amount of suction or can add another 6' or more if using the 2 1/2" shop vac hose and the included 2 1/2" coupling with the Craftsman kit. Now I don't have to bother moving the vacuum around while sanding. There is just the right amount of suction for the sander to stick to the wall/ceiling but allows it to be used for light sanding. Besides if you tend to hold handle on the Hyde sander over the adjuster rings like I do, it will increase the amount of suction, if needed. I also put one of those Rigid mufflers/diffusers on my shop vac so the output air isn't blowing in one direction. I suppose if you had a vacuum with a 1 1/4" hose and good vacuum cleaner bags it would be ideal to. You can tell this product was invented by someone who does this for a living, it cuts down the job time considerably because there is very little time spent cleaning up drywall dust.

Sander works well. Its fantastic to have a simple inexpensive tool that just does what its supposed to without needless fancy add-ons. With a bag inserted in my shop vac there is no dust at all. One problem was the static electricity while sanding. I wish there was a way to ground it. I used rubber gloves but that was awkward, and I still could feel shocks through my jeans. I would reccomend using it when the air humidity is higher than 60%.

Unless you enjoy spending an hour cleaning up drywall dust after sanding a room, this product is for you. I was skeptical that it would actually catch the dust. I have a Ridgid 5 HP shop vac mind you, but this thing really works!! The time saved is well worth the $17. It's a little hard to get used to at first. Getting familiar with the hose hanging from the end is a little tough but within 15 minutes I had gotten the hang of it. You can adjust the suction so if it's clinging too hard to the wall, you can usually find a spot that's right. Awesome product, awesome price!

Great unit! Worked every bit as well as expected. Easy to use and stay clean. It even satisfied my wife with no dust in the rest of the house. Great product!

Despite a few negative reviews, I couldn't help but wonder if it would really work. I came back so many times, and finally just ordered it. It came fast along with other products I had ordered. First impression was wow, it seemed fairly sturdy and came with those extra fittings to help fit it all together. We have a sears craftsman 20 gal. wet/dry vac. and we were able to fit this on with the adapter. We also were able to use a hose off an old shop vac to make it even longer. These adapters were a life saver.
I turned it on and started testing it out on a large area of drywall covered with joint compound that was dry. I was so amazed that I had to show everyone and get them to try it. My husband who had been negative about such a product came around to liking it. I mean, all us girls in the family will never live without it again. We almost want to buy another just in case this one happens to break so to have a backup. I like it that much. I like that as I'm checking the wall, it stays on the wall with suction. It frees my hands up, and I don't have to keep bending down repeatedly to pick it back up. Depending on what your doing the suction can also be adjusted. I didn't think I would actually care or need that function but I did. Once I moved into texturizing the wall it needed to be a bit lighter touch, and by adjusting the suction it made it perfect.
The dust level was low, which is important with a little one in our home. We had put off a few projects for that very reason. I will still use caution, and proper airing techniques, but this product makes it a cinch to set up knowing I don't have to hang partitions like on a job site.
I totally recommend this product for anyone who has to sand drywall, joint compound or anything like that. Also will be using it to sand a painted wall to degloss it. I think it was worth every cent.

I do home repair and remodeling, and when you are working in someones house you cannot just sand drywall and let the dust go everywhere, and even if you cover doorways and stuff the fine drywall dust still gets everywhere. I have used one of these for about 3 years now, and would recomend it to anyone that is doing drywall repair or small jobs. There are seveal models out there in the $20 to $50 price range and none of them are an imporvement on this unit for the price. Just remember to buy the dust collecting filter bags for your shopvac, the reg shop vac filters will not catch all the dust becasue it is too fine.

It's nice to find a product that actually does what it says it will do. Works like a charm. The only downside is cleaning the Shop vac filter over and over. If I had it to do over however, I would get the pole mounted version.
