There are many terms that I never heard of and inconsistent use of units, the dread of every engineer.

INTERESTING BUT NOT A CLASSICAL TEXTBOOK,

I'm an engineer involved in the design of large hydraulic structures.
The reference textbooks ( "the bible" ) for open channel hydraulics is still the old "Open Channel Hydraulics" by Ven Te Chow. This book is interesting but lacks for charts, diagrams and/or formulas for designing the hydraulic structures. I suggest to buy it only after Ven Te Chow or Henderson's classical textbooks. However please consider it if you're involved in the design of stepped spillways. |
