This is not the typical cheapo, this thing is very well built and sealed. Very different from the last 5 I purchased from various locations. VERY NICE, and well priced!

I've had the Hydro Tools 9245 Buoy Floating Pool Thermometer in my koi pond for several weeks now. My second digital thermometer stopped reading and so I decided to go back to basics and have no regret. It has taken me a little while to get used to reading it since I'm used to the digital; but it takes me a while to read a face clock too.
The rope seems like it is strong and will not break or rot through (something that happened to the floating thermometer I had before the two digital displays.) This is large and is not discreet. My koi pond is very natural looking and so I've put it underneath a small bridge. I've seen similar ones in pools and this has not been an issue because it wasn't important for them to blend in. I've paid much more for thermometers that don't seem as sturdy. This seems like it will last well for years.

This is poorly made. Cover came off of two which I purchased, leaving a glass thermometer exposed to ones pool and hot tub.
Just what you need....glass in the pool. Pay the money and buy a good one, one which you can examine first. I don't have time for this nonsense, let alone the transaction of returning it.
