Didn't Lose a Single Cutting,
By
This review is from: Hydrofarm 00212 2-Ounce Dip 'N Grow Rooting Hormone (Lawn & Patio)
As part of a horticulture class experiment, I used this product on half of my batch of cuttings and Rootone on the other half. Had less than 50% of the Rootone cuttings root and EVERY ONE of my Dip N Grow specimens thrive. The hormones in powdered rooting stimulants have a very short shelf-life, but the formulation of this liquid stimulant seems to give plants what they need to get a good start.
Don't expect this product to work miracles. Not every cutting is a good cutting! Read first what the species you are trying to propagate needs on each cutting (two nodes or four? scored outer stem or not? leaves cut in half or left whole?) to ensure good results.

What can I say? This is the most successful rooting aid I have ever used. I can root directly into the soil and never lose a cutting. The solution itself is not something you want on your skin, near your eyes, or in your mouth; so it should be carefully handled and stored but a 4oz. bottle will handle hundreds of cuttings and who can argue with a 100% success rate!

Why use anything else?,

This review is from: Hydrofarm 00212 2-Ounce Dip 'N Grow Rooting Hormone (Lawn & Patio)
There is literally no other equivalent product available, an industry standard for a reason, industrial nurseries purchase 55 gal drums. One can safely rule out the hormone as a cause of clone failure, if you are encountering problems there is another part of the process that has broken down. Most likely humidity or temperature. The cost is incomparable as well to other rooting hormones, even at full retail of $12. One bottle is "good for hundred's of cuttings", but I do thousands and a bottle lasts a year or more. I use a dropper to dose a 2 oz glass, this is enough for 40-50 cuts, > 90% success rate. Works in all mediums, soil, hydro, and aero.
