1.0 out of 5 stars Good info, but short. Really just a pamplet
This was really just a pamphlet. It had very basic information that can be obtained for free anywhere on the internet. Not worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Basics, December 5, 2007
This review is from: Hydrofarm BKHB Hydroponic Basics, 0.2 Pounds (Lawn & Patio)
This book is very condensed. It is a small book with short concise paragraphs but is very informative. While the information it contains is very broad, it doesn't go into much depth. It even has some basic information on plant anatomy and some functions. The pictures and diagrams are very good and relate to the paragraphs with corresponding numbers which are easy to follow, just don't confuse the numbers for steps in a procedure. Overall I believe this is a great book for someone who is thinking of beginning hydroponics but I don't think it will be your one source if you're wanting to take hydroponics serious. I give it 5 stars because it lives upto its title "Hydroponic Basics" with basic being very true.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, October 28, 2008
This review is from: Hydrofarm BKHB Hydroponic Basics, 0.2 Pounds (Lawn & Patio)
This is a tiny book filled mostly with pictures. There is little how-to information about how to set up a hydroponic system. Most of this information is available for free online. I was expecting more basic information about how to set up and run a hydroponic system and this doesn't have any instructions for that.

You get what you pay for. That's the first thing that comes to mind about this little guy. The info is excellent, the pictures are excellent, and the book is relatively well written. The only limitation is that book is only 80 pages. Having said that, the author packs a ton of info into a small space.

The tiny little book is somewhat helpful, but I was expecting it to tell me how to (in detail) build the various hydroponic systems. Basically, it just

tells about the different types and only shows how to build a very basic system. You can get this info for free on the internet (as mentioned in several other

ratings). It is ok, but you really probably should save the money for your hydro system.

I wish the book itself was a larger physical size!

I didn't realize this was a "pocket" book...

A lot of content that could have used more meaningful and deeper explanations otherwise constrained by the books physical size...

I enjoyed it...

This book provided me with a great introduction to hydroponics with photos of different ways to utilize hydroponics for growing plants. It also gives a basic introduction to the chemistry of plants, fertilizers, O2 and H20. Good book
