It's a good bucket does just what I needed it to.

These buckets are way overpriced, but that's not the reason you shouldn't buy them.

These buckets are way overpriced, but that's not the reason you shouldn't buy them. Those 3 rings you see around the top of the bucket. That is what you have to use to pick up your bucket and move it when it is full of water and has a plant in it. The rings don't extend far enough out to get a good grip. On other buckets, like the ones they sell at Walmart or Home Depot have a much larger ring that exists where those 3 rings are and they are much easier to pick up and move when you can't use the handle to move them. The buckets at Walmart and Home Depot cost around $2.50. I gave this bucket 2 stars since it does hold water.

We are just starting out with hydroponics. When the description says "ideal for hydroponics" and the price over $15.00, I supposed we assumed that the bucket would be Food Grade. We assumed WRONG. I emailed the company last night, LeakTite, just to be sure. To my surprise they emailed me back this morning at 7:30am! Thanks LeakTite! Conclusion, it's a good bucket as buckets go..... Way over priced by Hydrofarm. I don't know about you but we don't want to give our tomato and pepper plants water with leached chemicals. I suppose if we were growing something we were not going to eat... it would be fine. FYI, Home Depot has food grade black 5 gal buckets for just under $15.

Update..... The Home Depot black 5 gal "food grade" bucket happened to be the same exact Leaktite bucket! They actually claim the bucket is food grade.

The Product details say that this "Product Dimensions is 12 x 14.2 x 12 inches" ; However, the base of the bucket is not 12", but more like 8 or 9 inches. Just FYI

I will mainly use this for storing my wheel and tire supplies. It does just that. However, if you plan on putting a grit guard inside your bucket a 12-inch diamater does not fit all that well. Overall this bucket is average and seems to be decently manufactured. Based soley on price point alone I give this product 3 stars.

This bucket and the lid came at good price and were great for my first deep water culture hydroponic setup.

In the future I may look for a more built up bucket and pay a little more, but these do the trick and keep the light away from the root system.

It's ultimately just a bucket, though

Not happy. Found three(3) pack at HomeDepot for 13.59 the exact same bucket. Also bought 10 inch lid that does not fit.
