Many Uses - Here's One for Periodontal Infections,
By
This review is from: Hydrogen Peroxide Antiseptic Solution 16 Oz (Health and Beauty)
Occasionally I will recommend hydrogen peroxide to my dental patients to treat stubborn dental gum infections at home. Since most gum infections (gum disease) is caused and furthered by bacteria that cannot grow in an oxygen rich environment, it makes sense to flood their environment with a molecule that releases oxygen, like hydrogen peroxide.
First have your teeth thoroughly scaled and cleaned by a dental professional. Then, when you floss, dip the floss in a mixture of 50% hydrogen peroxide and floss between the teeth, getting the floss as far down as possible under the gumline. Do every tooth contact twice and do this twice a day. It will cut down the pathogenic disease-causing organisms in the dental gum tissues pockets. It must be done consistently to have a lasting effect. This is certainly not a cure-all since it cannot reach to the depth of deeper gum pockets. However, it will help to kill the organisms that cause gum disease. It is best used when the disease is relatively recent and has not caused extensive pocketing or bone loss. One can finish the process by dipping ones toothrush in the 50% mixture of hydrogen peroxide and brushing the teeth and gums. Afterwards, one should rinse with water, as hydrogen peroxide leaves a an aftertaste that is not pleasent. JIm Koenig, DDS

Want Fresher Breath?,
By
This review is from: Hydrogen Peroxide Antiseptic Solution 16 Oz (Health and Beauty)
Not too long ago, I read of a variety of ways to have fresher breath. One of the ways was to vigorously rinse the mouth with a 50% mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water for at least a minute prior to brushing. Then give the teeth a good brushing. Oxygen is death to bacteria and hydrogen peroxide is simply a water molecule with an extra atom of oxygen attached, which it readily releases to kill bacteria. Don't expect a miracle immediately as you may have an overwhelming amount of bacteria. Plus, it's good to have your teeth cleaned regularly. I recently had them cleaned and I've now been using this rinse and brush method for about a month. I can feel my mouth getting fresher day by day. It's amazing!
In any case, I picked up this Swan Hydrogen Peroxide Antiseptic Solution (16 ounces) at my local grocery store. It's not very expensive. You mix it with 50% water and only use a little at a time so it goes a long way. Read the warnings on the label, of course, and if you have any concerns, consult your doctor or dentist. Gary Peterson

Whitens teeth better than Crest whitestrips and all those other expensive kits!,
This review is from: Hydrogen Peroxide Antiseptic Solution 16 Oz (Health and Beauty)
This stuff whitens teeth sooo well!!! I remembered my mom told me I should try this, but seeing that she doesn't use it (she doesnt whiten her teeth), I never saw the results. I didn't know what to try, but remembered what my mom told me, so picked up two bottles today.
With one use for one minute, my teeth were whiter than they had ever been after WEEKS of Crest white white strips, and other like-kits as well as whitening mouth wash AND whitening toothpaste. Not only that, I could feel it killing the germs on my tongue and my gums were instantly less swollen (I have very sensitive gums). This stuff REALLY IS incredible!! Thank you SOOO much MOM for telling me about this!!! It is SO affordable, but really works! I'm just really impressed and want to let other people know. :D

1 bottle of "Swan" brand that I can get for $0.25 at my local stores on sale!,
By
This review is from: Hydrogen Peroxide Antiseptic Solution 16 Oz (Health and Beauty)
This ad makes it "appear" that you'll receive 12 bottles of hydrogen peroxide. A case for $6.60... wouldn't be a bad price to have delivered to your door, yet for 1 16 ounce bottle? This is CLEARLY a deceptive ad & should be pulled off Amazon.com, unless the seller sends every single person they've sold this to with this listing a case of 12, as the ad clearly makes it appear to be what you are buying the way it is listed on here, and BTW, even at that is only a fair price! In addition, when I've used this brand, it clearly seems is sometimes FAR weaker than other brands I've used, including local store brands, thus the 1 star. It seems the QC on this brand isn't what it should be for a health care product (it could be the handling in shipping &/or at discount stores where this brand is sold too, but regardless, it should be tested at the end user, and if not up to the percentages it is supposed to be, then that's one VERY expensive bottle of watered down peroxide!) This brand, on sale, is $0.25-0.50 on sale or at discount stores (it's been a while since I've seen it for 0.25, yet I did get some for 3/$1.00 not too long ago & it is regularly $0.50 for a 16 oz. bottle - $1 at convenience stores.) $6+ for EACH bottle??? & the way it is listed, it CLEARLY looks like you are going to receive a case! Amazon should hold this seller to at least that & not make buyers pay for return shipping on a deceptive ad.

When I ordered, the product title was "Hydrogen Peroxide Antiseptic Solution 16 Oz 12/cs".Doesn't "12/cs" mean "a case of 12"? Instead, I received just a single bottle. The product quality is good, but this is a terrible price (4 times what I pay at the local pharmacy). What's worse is that the product title is misleading. Amazon should fix this. Caveat: The seller in my case was "Lakewood Candies LLC". You may get different results from a different seller. If you do, please post a comment and let us know.

Great for many things, but doctor warned not to use a first choice for fresh srape,

This review is from: Hydrogen Peroxide Antiseptic Solution 16 Oz (Health and Beauty)
I always have a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide at home. It has so many uses! I use 50% solution of water and H.P. almost daily to clean my toothbrush. Sometimes I use the same solution to brush my teeth. It whitens the teeth well, although it does not taste great. However a little rinse with water fixes the after taste.
I used to use Hydrogen Peroxide for scrapes as well. Recently I fell and got a pretty nasty gash on my shin (4 inch by 0.25 inch). Because I was traveling I did not treat the wound as well as I should and got an infection. In a few weeks when I had to see the doctor to treat the infection, I asked what I should have used to clean the wound to avoid the problem next time. Surprisingly, the doctor told me that Hydrogen Peroxide should not have been my first choice. The doctor said that H.P. does clean but also damages the healthy tissue and this prolongs healing. The doctor said that studies show that the best way to clean the wound is with plenty of plain water and soap and pressure on the wound to remove the debris. Hydrogen Peroxide should only be used if there is no access to clean water. So it should be in your emergency kit when you hike but not your first choice if there is access to soap and water. Hope this helps someone to avoid a slow healing infection. P.S. A note on price. My local grocery store sell 16 oz bottle for $1.50, I saw similar prices in a local pharmacy. Ali Julia review

More than $6, more than six times the real price.
As someone else commented, this is a rip-off. Just buy it at your local pharmacy! (don't do as I did assuming that amazon has the best prices :( )

Peroxide Treats Cold Sores!,

Apply peroxide with a cotton swab every time you get the tingle and they will be smaller, less severe and go away faster. Peroxide worked much better than Abreva for me and is much cheaper of course. I pour a bit into the cap and dip the swab in, I do not re-dip to avoid contamination of the peroxide. I toss out the rest of the peroxide in the cap. This review is for hydrogen peroxide in general and not a particular brand.

One can by 16oz H2O2 for a dollar @ Wal*Mart and Target. These prices are a rip-off, and including shipping it is outrageous.
