great idea for a children's book, but everypage has factual errors!, November 20, 2006
This review is from: Hydroplanes (Horsepower (Blazers Hardcover)) (Library Binding)
I bought this book for my 3 year old boy who loves boat racing and hydroplanes. I expected to see a great picture book with some good descriptions of what a hydroplane is and how they work or at least the correct description of a hydroplane.
What I encountered was completely disappointing, tunnel hull boats are being called hydroplanes, she even calls a tunnel hull a V-Hull in another set of photos!
even the glossary in the back of the book had 4 wrong definitions out of 5! come on.... here's an example ..sponson= a piece on the side of the boat that helps keep it steady! do a bit more research before you publish a book and call them facts...
everyone of the "blazer facts" thought bubbles that are printed in the book are wrong!
overall I counted only 3 pages out of 30 that did not have a MAJOR fact error!
rewrite the book correctly and then republish it!
