Customer service rep on phone was helpful and said she would ship out replacement right away.

I am ready to either spend money on a different/new pump or quit breastfeeding all together (which infuriates me that a pump is dictating that!)

It is strong and fast and I love that you can control the speed and suction however you like.

This pump is excellent. I am an exclusive pumper and was renting a hospital grade pump (the Medela Symphony). I decided to buy the Hygeia pump when I was returning to work.

A word of caution: when I first got it, it didn't work. My husband figured out that it was because of the valves. They are a duckbill design and there was too much space between the "bill". Hygeia overnighted me new valves and they have worked perfectly but they did squeak at first.

Overall, this pump is incredibly fast, strong and effective. I would say it works as well as the Symphony, perhaps faster. I built up my supply with the symphony. This pump maintained the same level for a couple of months. Recently, my supply has been decreasing but I don't think it is because of the pump but because I have returned to work and am not around my baby as much.

I actually have the EPS, the one without a battery. I got a great price for it--over $100 less that the LBI. I do not regret this choice as it is light weight (only 2.5 lbs) and I can easily carry it in a normal tote bag. Also, it is unlikely that I would need to pump somewhere without an outlet.

UPDATE: So, two years and another baby later, I am still using this pump and it is still working just as well. It is strong and fast and I love that you can control the speed and suction however you like. I just had my baby three weeks ago and I am nursing and pumping. In around 8 minutes, I am pumping approximately 6-7 ounces. Not bad.

In a nutshell, this pump is FANTASTIC! It may seem odd to say, but my
breasts have never felt better! When I first tried it, I was concerned
because I was used to a strong suction from other breastpumps I had used in
the past and I thought that the highest suction seemed a bit weak. I was
totally wrong. I did NOT need the higher suction. It NEVER hurt to use the
Hygeia, unlike other brands that felt "pinchy" in the beginning until I
became accustomed to them. It is so comfortable. I can't remember even one
moment where I complained of discomfort. My favorite aspect of this pump is
the fact that it is battery-charged. You do not need an outlet which is
great for me because I like to pump in different places and don't feel like
I have to mess with moving furniture to find a place to pump--I can watch
TV, work in the kitchen, play with my daughter, etc.) On top of that, the
charge lasts for quite a while. The battery never runs out and I only
charge it once every 3 to 4 days. While a very nice feature as it can help
moms with their letdown, the "record" button is unnecessary for me.
Instead, it entertains my daughter because she liked to play with it while
I'm pumping.

The only drawback to this pump is that it only fits on its own bottles
(which comes with 2). Other pumps that I have used have a universal size so
I was able to use other bottles. It's definitely not the worst thing in the
world to deal with--I just have to make sure they are cleaned and available.
Other than that, this pump is incredible. I wish more women knew about it.
Also, I am an avid pumper and I've been using it for my second child. What
a huge difference between this pump and the others. The comfort, ease, and
portability really makes the Hygeia stand out!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Before buying this pump, I have used two versions of the Medela pump in style. I really like the EnJoye, and appreciate that it can be safely re-used by another mom. The EnJoye is quieter and quicker than the Pump in Style. I did not bother getting the tote bag version, and just stick it in a canvas bag when I need to take it with me. I have not used the recording feature, since I have no problem letting down (with any pump). The flange and related parts from the personal accessory set work fine, but they are a little messier than Medela versions, which better allow you to get the last drips and drops into the bottle when you have finished pumping. BUT the Medela flange set up fits onto the EnJoye, so I have started using them together--works great!

I highly recommend this pump. The return policy is great. When I ordered mine, they were out of new stock so sent me a refurbished pump to use until my new pump shipped. They were very accommodating and easy to deal with.

In my opinion, it makes little sense to spend lots of money on a pump that cannot be reused. With the Medela pump, I wonder why it is supposedly safe to use your own pump after it has been idle for a few years versus using one that someone else has used. Not sure what the difference is--bacteria can grow whether it originates from you or someone else. The EnJoye is safe for you to reuse and safe for someone else to use. You could even have two people use it at the same time. Safe, quiet and quick--it has everything I want in a pump.

I fall into the 2% of women who have a very low production so my son refused to nurse. I really wanted to give him as much breast milk as possible and I ended up trying the Ameda Purely Yours, renting the Medela Symphony, and finally get the Hygea EnJoye.

Briefly: I find the EnJoye to be comparable to the Symphony, and both are much more powerful and better made machines that the current Ameda Purely Yours. I think people who have older children and bought the Purely Yours years ago received good products; unfortunately, my experience is similar to the reviewers for the Purely Yours where the suction decreased after a week. After 24 hours of pumping every 2-3 hours on the Purely Yours, I was only able to get 2 oz of breast milk (yes, very, very low production.) When the suction decreased, my production decreased slightly so I decided to rent the Medela Symphony. I was able to immediately double my production to 4 oz. After drinking Mother's Milk, I was able to increase to 6 oz in 24 hours. As my monthly rental came to an end, I found out about the Hygeia EnJoye and switched over, and was able to maintain production of 6-7 oz a day with the EnJoye.

Noise: Some reviewers have mentioned noise, I personally don't mind the noise from the Purely Yours or the EnJoye. Both machines make a whirring sound and if the baby is sleeping lightly during the day, I won't pump in the same room. But if I have the TV on in the background, I won't hear the pump noise at all. Both are louder than the Symphony, which I did use while the baby slept. At night, when he is sleeping soundly, I am able to use the EnJoye without worrying that I'll wake him.

Speed and Strength: After using the Purely Yours for a week, the suction decreased a lot.
