This review is from: Hyland's Earache Drops, 0.33-Ounce (10 ml) (Pack of 3) (Health and Beauty)
I get a lot of ear problems from swimming. While regular use of an ear dryer (a rather odd looking but very effective device) I've eliminated ear infections. However, my ears still get irritated from the chorine.
Tried a few over the counter medications, and this is the only one that actually works quite well. It's very soothing, and eliminates virtually all of the discomfort of an irritated ear canal.
Note that is it is NOT an antibiotic, so it won't do anything if you have an infection. You'll need prescription meds to take care of that. If you're not sure if it is irritation or an infection (especially with kids) it is always best to see a doctor first.
But, even if it is an infection, these drops will help sooth the pain while the antibiotics do their thing. It usually takes a few days for the antibiotics to knock down the infection, and in the meantime, these drops (which are OK to use in combination with antibiotics) will be very much appreciated.
Note that you can also get this at that large store that starts with W at a better price. But, if you're not close to one, the price on Amazon is not too bad.
