I first tried this product for my colicky infant. It worked so well, that our whole family started using it for gas or stomach problems. It melts immediately in the mouth, like butter. One caution: Don't touch the pill itself. Drop it from the bottle into the cap/lid, and pop it into the mouth. We take a few tablets every 5-10 minutes until symptoms subside. Unlike the other reviewer, we never experienced this product as bad smelling, and we have used it for 18 years.

I have had great success with Hylands products, especially the leg cramps with quinine formula. So I purchased these to keep on hand. When I went to use them, I was nearly floored by the odor..a combination of rotten onions and garlic. It was so strong, I called customer service. They told me the odor was normal and attrributable to the ingredients. This truly surprised me because homeopathy is all about diluting the substances until there is no measuarable amount left. The lady at customer service said that instead of dissolving under the tongue, I should take with water. I did take them and did in fact dissolve them under my tongue. It was very unpleasant and I was tuck with the unpleasant taste and the smell remained on my hands until I washed them with lemon juice! However, on the bright side, they did work and I only had to take the dosage once.

Ultimately, it is a matter of taste. Whether the efficacy outways the unpleasantness of the smell is a close call. While they are fast and effective, the unpleasant odor makes this a secondary choice.
