For the most part, I like the book. It's basically a 'skeleton' that allows the guitarist to embellish according to their level and ability. This means it's a book you can grow into long after you move into the intermediate stage. And it's for this reason the book 'lacks'
To be so generous in the application of tabs and then not putting chords on top does a great disservice to the guitarist who has yet to learn how to read music. Many people come away thinking tab books for solo or 'fingerstyle' guitar playing only requires reading of the tab, but that's not true. The chords brings understanding to "placement" and the economy of movement for the left hand on the fretboard. Sure, there will be some who will be interested enough to figure this out on their own, but it would have been nice to have that there just the same, especially for teaching students.
Overall, an okay book to have for the player who needs to learn the song quickly and for the more established, who enjoys dressing up a basic melody to fit the venue.
