A Wonderful Hymn Book, August 11, 2007
This review is from: Hymns of Grace and Glory (Hardcover)
Hymns of Grace and Glory is a wondering hymn book full of many forgotten old texts rich in Reformation theology--many set to new tunes. I'd recommend this to individuals for their own personal use or to musically traditional churches looking for a new hymn book.

The finest hymnal available today, September 21, 2010
This review is from: Hymns of Grace and Glory (Hardcover)
We are commanded to sing Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual songs; however, most churches are unable to follow this command because their hymnal is missing psalms. This hymnal has taken select psalms from the Psalter and put them into a stanza format. The hymnal is full of hymns by Isaac Watts, William Cowper, Charles Wesley, Horatius Bonar, and John Newton. The first 100 pages are tremendous hymns for public worship and the selection of Advent Hymns is impressive. Our church body makes it a practice to open with a hymn of praise, then to sing from the Psalter, followed by a new hymn each month and then a spiritual song. There are many hymns that have been lost over the years within this hymnal and there are stanzas of familiar hymns, like Amazing Grace, that I never heard until we purchased this hymnal.
This is a must for any believer who recognized the spiritual value in singing hymns and any church who embraces traditional worship.
