I love this cd. It's nice to hear classic hymns. There isn't a song that isn't well done. I would recommend this to anyone who would like the old-fashion hymns in their collection.

I'm really disappointed in this recording. I thought I would enjoy contemporary artists singing hymns. I thought wrong. Here's what is on the CD: Contemporary artists singing hymns in such a stylized fashion that the tune becomes nearly unrecognizable OR contemporary artists singing hymns badly. Why does contemporary have to equal bad singing technique?

The only redeeming quality (and the reason it got 2 stars instead of 1 star) about this CD is the song, "O Lord of Hosts, How Lovely" sung by Rochelle Hickman, which is GORGEOUS. However, I already own that tune on a Maranatha CD. So there isn't a point to keeping the CD. I'm giving it away in the hope that someone else will enjoy it. I certainly didn't.

I first heard this album on Pandora. I kept hearing good songs and so decided to purchase this album on Amazon. Whoever I purchased it from shipped me a new 2-cd collection. Majority of the songs are good songs sung by contemporary artist in a contemporary way. Although some customers may complain that songs are too contemporary and unrecognizable. I must disagree - majority of the songs are well done. Only few are a little over-the-top-contemporary. I would recommend this product to others.
