skin saver bandaging tape,

This review is from: Hypafix Dressing Retention Tape: 2" x 10 yds Each (Health and Beauty)
I love this tape! Found it after surgery on the tip of my nose leaving an open wound that I had to wash, apply vaseline, and re-bandage at least twice a day. The tip of the nose is a hard spot to bandage: ran the paper tape up the bridge of my nose, either side of the nose, etc. Pulling the tape off became increasingly painful as the skin became increasingly raw. On a check-up trip the nurse re-bandaged with a wonderful tape: it would stretch a bit and, more importantly, came off the skin with no harm to the skin. And it could be reapplied at least once. When I couldn't find it at the local pharmacy, they suggested I call the Doctor's office. They gave me the name (Hypafix) but didn't know where to buy it locally; suggested the internet.
Of course, I went to Amazon.com; paid the extra price to receive it the next day (already have premium shipping). The call was made at 5 pm; product arrived before 10 am. THE FAST DELIVERY WAS REALLY APPRECIATED BY MY SKIN!! I carried this wonderful tape with me for my 3 months in Florida. Unfortunately, I got a bad cut on my ankle; medics felt stitches would not hold because of my elderly thin skin. So they bandaged it and gave me extra bandaging materials for the next few days. FORTUNATELY, I HAD MY HYPAFIX. It worked well on the contours of the inner ankle area. With patient cleaning and re-bandaging, the cut has healed without incident and is nearly invisible after just 2 months. I left my partial box in Florida; and, once home again, immediately ordered a new box (standard 2-day premium shipping this time) and have it ready for the next emergency. AGAIN, THE AVAILABILITY AND HASTY DELIVERY WAS THE GREATEST PART OF THIS ORDER FROM AMAZON.

This stuff is great for tight thumb holes. Cut off a section, apply it to the top of your thumb, and the ball will slide right off.

This is what you want to hold your bandage.,

This is hands down the best medical tape I have used. Expensive but it will stick on all kinds of contoured surfaces you find on the human body (bottom of feet, hands, shoulder, etc). It feels kind of like a sticky cloth and it stays put. Great product.

My husband, a type 1 diabetic, uses a blood glucose monitor which receives messages from a sensor/transmitter which must be attached to his abdomen. From time to time, the transmitter adhesive doesn't stay stuck on. Here's where the Hypafix Dressing Retention Tape comes in. Perfect! He places some of this over the tape on the transmitter and he can shower and do all his usual activities without the transmitter coming off. He'll always need this stuff.

This produce is great especially if you have sensitive skin. Other brands of dressings causes tape burn on me. This stuff does not!! I was afraid that the hospitals were the onlys one who had this. I was glad to be able to get this online. This is the best stuff I have ever used. It is worth the price!!

I enjoy diabetic ulcers and other nasty injuries and this tape is the absolute best. Diabetics rejoice. Great for attaching dressings, pads and other medicament to diabetic wounds, carabuncles or other disgusting sores. this stuff sticks. Its flexible and will withstand the rigors of a shower. Trim it, cut it, snip it and mold it to irregular contours and it simply works. So good that I nagged the hospital outpatient pharmacy to stock it and at eleven bucks a roll is no bargain. Amazon always has it and ships asap. Not made in China either.

This is absolutely the best tape you can get for those who have sensitive skin that can't use regular adhesive tape or bandaids.

I use this product to reinforce both my Continuous Glucose Monitor's (CGM) sensor and my insulin pump's infusion set canula. The CGM sensor stays attached to my body for 7 days and without Hypafix, the sensor would become unglued and fall out of place before the 7 days were up. For the canula, I frequently will catch the tubing on various protrusions in my house like door knobs and banisters. Without Hypafix, the snagging would pull the canula out and I would have to replace it. Hypafix acts like a strong protective barrier so that does not happen.
Hypafix is a great product. It feels natural and does not itch or irrate my skin in any way. I only wish that I had discovered it years ago.

Best tape for sensitive skin!,
This review is from: Hypafix Dressing Retention Tape: 2" x 10 yds Each (Health and Beauty)
Like many other reviewers, this has become "my tape" after a long search, and many painful rashes. I have my allergy sheet marked as "any 'Micropore' product," since they all cause the same contact dermatitis, as do the generic paper tapes, and whatever cheap substitutes I'm offered.
At this point, I bring my own roll of S&N Hypafix if I know I'm going to need some taping. I work in a hospital where I see all sorts of tape reactions, and they are a terrible problem for sensitive, fragile, or elderly skin. We offer all sorts of tape, but not Hypafix. As we say when we've found the perfect cosmetic, this tape is my HG! The price is right (I don't care if my insurance covers it, and now it's available from Amazon, too), it's a perfect product for my sensitive skin, and it lasts for years if stored properly. |
