Beautiful style, leather, Awful outcome, January 20, 2010

Just got this in the black and am a collector of bags and love Hype usually. This bag is way too wide to comfortably put under the arm, and the handles barely allow you to do so anyway. Even as a bag carried on the crook of the elbow or by hands, it's still awkward. The picture doesn't show this, however, the top flap that reaches from the back of the bag across and over the top, doesn't lay flat unless you stuff the bag very, very full and wide. If the bag is semi-empty, the top flap sticks up in a high, weird, unattractive way. So, either stuff the bag so the flap lays flat, but then you can't put the too-wide bag over your shoulder because your arm would be at a weird angle (which would be the easiest way to carry such a heavily-stuffed bag), or have the top flap stick up and then you can't put the weird arrangement over your shoulder. Even if you like to carry your bags by hand 100% of the time, the flap arching over and sticking up is very peculiar. Trust me, this is not as cute as in the pic. I gave it 2 stars because the leather is nice and the overall style is good. It's just the execution that is wrong. I'm surprised the design team didn't catch this major flaw before it was produced.
