Disappointed Purse Lover,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hype Roisin Cross-Body Satchel (Apparel)
I saw this purse on Macy's online a few months ago and when I was ready to purchase it, they were completely sold out. I was delighted to find it here on Amazon and immediately bought it in the Aztec color. This color is absolutely beautiful just in time for spring. I had read a review here about the Roisin prior to purchasing it and it had some negative feedback about the functionality of the purse. It didn't bother me because I wanted it bad, but to my surprise, I was so disappointed and had to return it as well. This purse is designed to be a cross-body satchel. Like the previous review stated, this satchel does not even come across properly. The strap is shorter than the ideal length, I'm 5'4" and it sat above my waist to where it looked so off! I figured that would be alright since I can throw it over my shoulder and use it that way instead. Well, that didn't work either! The strap is again short and impossible to even keep on your shoulder. I'm a 110 lb girl and you would think it would work, but it does not! The only way this purse is going to work for anybody is if it hangs on your forearm or if you hold it in your hand. Other than that, the look, the compartments inside and the interior color of the purse (orange) are great. It's just unfortunate how this Roisin was not designed correctly.

Still not as good as it could be,

I was quite excited when I saw the pictures of the Roisin bag here on Amazon. It appeared that Hype had fixed their old design (where the straps were all attached to the top of the flap) by making the straps attach to the side of the bag. Pictures of the interior looked good and orange is always good for a fun lining color.
The bag is quite sizeable and up to par with Hype's normal good construction quality. I ordered the purple which is a muted purple-grey, quite nice and almost a neutral. However, you see that this is marketed as a cross-body satchel? Hype must have a bunch of vertically-challenged people working for them, because the so-called cross-body strap on this is ridiculously short. Once again (as with the Hype Noemie) the bag ends up in my armpit, even when the strap is fully extended, and I'm 5'6". I don't see why companies like Hype and Fossil, whose bags are otherwise quite, quite good, persist in making straps so short. Surely it can't add much to the cost of this (overly expensive) bag to add ten inches of length to the adjustable strap? Anyway, I'm returning it because it won't suit as a cross-body. Otherwise it's a great bag. |
