Simple and Beautiful., March 25, 2005

The story is that Aidan Moffat (of Arab Strap fame) made this album to combat his bouts of insomnia. As a huge fan of Arab Strap, I picked up this album out of curiosity and fell in love within minutes. It's an opus composed of sampled strings, assorted loops, Casio-style keyboards, and simple home-style beats. It's very much on the "downtempo" kick and very different than the Strap, but will probably appeal to fans of the genre. I've listened to this disc at least once a week for the past two years and it's never left my CD wallet. Highly recommended.
