When I first decided to record hypnotherapy audio CD's I had to consider the fact that these CD's would be bought and used by many, hopefully thousands, of people. I realized, all to well, that it could be difficult to create one hypnotherapy format that would work for, essentially, everyone.
I had to take into consideration the following; that each and every person who listens to my CD's will have their own unique, very distinctive, mental, spiritual, emotional and physical characteristics. Also, every individual would be experiencing the problem, for which the CD was created to address, in varying degrees. For example, take 10 people who have difficulty sleeping and it is likely that each one of them will be experiencing something slightly different as relates to the actual sleep difficulty. Furthermore, not all hypnotic techniques work for everyone.
For this rather "mammoth" undertaking I drew upon my many years in private practice as a hypnotherapist and hundreds of case studies, which I conducted. The resulting "Hypnotic Empowerment Series" audio CD's, there are 9 in all, are the composite of a 19 year exploration of what does and does not work for most people where hypnosis and hypnotherapy are concerned.
It is my fervent desire to facilitate healing, and engender a sense of empowerment to all who purchase and listen to my audio products. I have created the "Hypnotic Empowerment Series" audio CD’s with that in mind.

I ordered this C/D and Becoming the Goddess, and Sprit Contact. I have noticed that all three C/D's have the same repeated sessions on each C/D. The only difference between all three C/D's is the one session unique to the subject topic where she walks you through one actual 15 minute session. She does have a very melodic voice and method of speaking that is very soothing. There is more to Phychic Development that opening your charka centers! If you really want to improve your abilities...A better buy is Heaven and Earth [ABRIDGED] by James Van Praagh,[Audio Cassette]and then get a tape recorder and create your own mediation tapes.

I don't believe there is power in self-hypnosis or a CD like this in itself, but more in the intention of "wanting" something to come into your life. That is all they offer or claim. Hypnosis is just suggesting things to your subconscious, while you are in a more susceptible state to receive the message.The psychic development hypnosis session on the disk helps connect you with your chakra system through grounding and visualizations. She suggests that you will only open your psychic ability to a level that is appropriate for you at this time. I think it is very well done. The only thing I might change in the induction, is how she has you take breaths. I was trying to follow exactly what she says, but it doesn't really work that way. You need to take breaths between the deep breaths she leads you through. I got over this by the second or third time I listened, so it was fine. Just don't take the breathing part too literally, so it won't be confusing. The second session on the CD is for deep relaxation and it is WONDERFUL! I use this to relax and go to sleep on nights when I feel a little wound up. All in all, very worth the investment!

I'm new but very open to the possibilities of hypnotic suggestion - I have purchased two of Ms. Decker's CDs, this one and the one on reducing stress - Janet Decker does a fantastic job of assisting the listener to drift off into a low-level trance while at the same time maintaining control and awareness of one's surroundings - her voice is soft and assuring and her presentation is flawless - the breathing exercises she plants in the mind of the individual have enabled me to greatly reduce my stress level enabling me to deal with day-to-day activities - while I do have a problem visualizing the chakra elements of her suggestions on the psychic development CD, my wife can visualize them exactly as Ms. Decker suggests them to be - I have discovered, through Ms. Decker's counsel that the ability to visualize is more pronounced in some than in others - overall, I would highly recommend this and any of the other hypnotic CD's that Ms. Decker produces
